In this video, we are counting down the top 10 facts about the Maltipoo that you might not know.

A Quick Overview:
Group: Hybrid Dogs
Weight: 5 to 20 pounds
Height: 8 to 14 inches tall at the shoulder
Life Expectancy: 10 - 13 years

Because both Poodles and Maltese are considered non-shedders, people who breed Maltipoos hope to end up with a hypoallergenic dog. If you're allergic, however, it's important to know a little something about pet allergies before you run out to get a Maltipoo. All dogs produce dander (dead skin flakes) and saliva, which carry allergens. And allergies can build over time. You may not react to a dog when you first meet him but develop an allergy after living with him for days, weeks, or even months. Spend lots of time with a number of different Maltipoos to see how you'll react.

If you decide that a Maltipoo is for you, you'll find that he's an active, feisty, fun-loving dog. He enjoys life, and his perfect day includes playing dog games, going for a walk, and racing through the house. Maltipoos can be a good choice for first-time or timid owners. They're easy to train and learn quickly. They also do well in homes with elderly people or with older children who can handle them carefully. They enjoy long cuddles and are sensitive to their people's wants and needs.

Maltipoos can adapt to any kind of home, from an apartment to a house. No matter what their housing, they love being with their people, and should live indoors with their human families, never outside or in kennels. They're not recommended for homes where they'll be left alone for long periods. Maltipoos can be barkers and will alert you to everything that's going on. You may need to work hard to teach them to discriminate between what's important to bark at and what's not. They are fun-loving, happy dogs who've stolen many hearts. For those who appreciate their cuddly appeal and can give them the companionship they need, they can make an ideal pet.

My maltipoo just passed away. I miss my Lulu so much. Had her since she was a month old. They do gently bite your hands and feet. After 3 months they stop. They follow you everywhere. First one to greet you when in the kitchen. They only bark when they see people outside. When you leave the house, they are quick to run to the window when you arrive home. They are the best dog to have.

I found my maltipoo on the streets a few years ago and she is incredibly sweet, intelligent, cuddly, and friendly and I cant imagine life without her. She LOVES sitting in laps and getting her belly patted.

I went to a pet store today, and I fell in love with a Maltipoo and I named him Nugget. He was so cute, soft, gentle, calm, and playful! He was perfectly healthy, and pretty much already potty trained at only 2 months old! I played with him for a while and he got used to me in 5 minutes! He was the perfect dog, but I was heartbroken when I couldn't take him home right away. I really wish he will be my dog someday! ❤️

I got my Maltipoo for my 11th birthday and named her whinny, she was the funniest most playful dog I'd ever known. Once covid started to become big she got very sick and a lot of underlying health conditions started coming forward all at once. Though she wasnt as playful and she started to lose most of her fur, she was still my puppy and I loved her. She had to get surgery and we didnt think she would make it but she did, and she got so much better. We thought everything would be okay but she slowly continued to get sicker. In April of 2021 me and my dad went to Arizona to get my brothers belongings from college that he left behind due to covid. The day I got back my mom told me that my dog suddenly got worse when I left and she passed away only a day after I had left. I turned 19 in september of 2021, she was only 8 years old. I havent felt sad since she died because it didnt feel real, but seeing this video made all the emotions rush back. I miss her so much, she was the sweetest puppy.

What surprises me the most they actually like hiking. I met a guy with maltipoo when hiking and took ours since then a couple of times. Definitely have them wear something when cold as they do get cold and have to bath it when you get home, but they purely love it.

My maltipoo is four months old. He has such a great personality. Very smart, he loves his one and half year old Cavapoo sister. But, he will pick myself over anyone. Truly, a man’s best friend.
