Emma Watson is telling women that they don't need to be pretty fragile princesses but strong capable women and men don't need to be strong capable men but in fact they're allowed to be delicate and in touch to their feelings and emotions. It goes both ways guy.

Emma just hit the problem right on the dot! There is sexism against men and women that we must fight!

I'm sorry but I burst into tears when she said: "You might be wondering who is this Harry Potter Girl..." Still she can laugh about herself. And she's completely right. Thank you Emma Watson, for this great speech. ♡

This is why Emma Watson is my hero. She talked about both the issues that women are faced with and the issues men are faced with. I am a feminist and to me, that means I want to be equal to men even if it's not in my favor. I hope that one day, the world won't need feminists because everyone will be equal no matter where they fall on the gender spectrum. But until then, I will continue to fight for human rights. Not just woman's rights. Rights for EVERYONE.

When my brother was 12, he was harshly bullied by his friends for crying. He was called 'sissy' and humiliated in front of everyone. This had happened to him several times. He came home that day and decided to take his life. When we came home, he was lying in a pool of blood and we rushed him to the hospital and saved his life. That day I decided that gender inequality is real and feminism is not just about women. Gender inequality is a reality for both sexes and I firmly advocate feminism.

When she said “my parents didn’t love me any less because I was a daughter” that hit home because my dad hates me for being a female

That was a very nice speech about a feminism I would fully accept. I'm a guy and I'm the last one who would have problems with feminists like Emma Watson, because the take feminism by definition and by definition it is a good thing. By definition I'm a feminist too. The problem with feminism is, that there are many loud persons in the public who are just hating men and call themselves feminists. They need to be stopped.
Respect and much success to Emma Watson! :)

to all of you who agree that men and women should be equal, but “don’t like the word feminism” - let me use emma watson’s presence as an excuse to quote dumbeldore. “fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself”

I hadn't put too much thought into gender equality lately, but this video made me want to speak up. And when I did, I got a lot of horrible, sexist comments from some men (boys, really). It just proved to me not only that gender inequality really does still exist, it also showed me that it's deeply ingrained in people's brains that men are superior to women. That got me so heated and it got me feeling so defensive and so passionate about women's rights. I really hope some light can be shed on this topic and I thank Emma for being brave enough to begin doing so.
