The fact that you can/should charge to 100% every day in this base model Y, due to it's LFP batteries is very important, since you get the full range every day. In the LR and Performance versions the use NMC batteries and they should only be charged to 80% daily and only occasionally to 100%. This means that as a daily commuter you have more range available compared to LR and Performance. This is not mentioned in this test.

Excellent, consise review! Just ordered it in Holland! At 3:25 you mention the battery capacity as 62.3 kWh. Do you have any reference for that?

5:31 What phone are you using? I’ve tested the chargers with the largest iPhone (Pro Max) and it fit with room to spare. I’m guessing you just needed to find a problem that doesn’t exist.

Love the perspective taking here! Not just another walkthrough disguised “review”! Thanks and love it!

Great review than you. Can’t wait for a reviewer to do a side by side comparison of the models 3 & Y so we who have a 3 but have ordered a Y, can see the size difference. All in all, excellent review.

You said it's like using a mobile phone - is it just me that it's dangerous to have look across to the middle of the car to a TV screen to look at information or use controls.

My Kona Electric with key information straight in front of me including a Heads up Display and many key controls on the steering wheel

Im a Tesla Model 3 owner and FWIW this is a very fair, balanced and insightful review.

Blue RWD and Red performance on the way for me. Exchanging an E-Golf and M3P for them. Can’t wait for the better practicality, better visibility etc but I will miss the handling of the 3. With the ‘harsh ride’ reviews - if it really is that bad - just change the suspension out.

Or you can use your mobile instead of keycard. No tapping required to start your car, duh.

the price is over the EV subsidy limit in NSW

'Ride was firm but not uncomfortable'...that puts this reviewers opinion at odds with Chasing Cars, Cars Guide & Car Expert...all who said this was a potential deal breaker because it was unacceptably harsh and uncomfortable 😳

OR Buy a PHEV and get best of both worlds

The extra space of the Y is good but I think the 3 looks much better

I wanted one but it’s too expensive, possibly because it has too many unnecessary gadgets for a base model.

It looked like Tesla are still having problems getting the 2 sections of the back seat to align?

Secret News - An Australian company is developing an electric vehicle which has a battery which will be interchangeable with a fully charged battery at the Electric Battery Replacement Station. The vehicle will drive over a conveyor belt and a robot will scan the underside of the vehicle and the discharged battery will then be replaced with a fully charged battery at a cost of $13.00 USD or $20.00 AUD per battery. The time to exchange the battery will only be 3 minutes and you will be able to pre-pay for an exchange battery with your smart phone so you can just drive through like at McDonalds. This means that Tesla's method of recharging will be outdated and will become inferior to the new exchange battery system which is set to be released throughout Australia and the rest of the world in 2026. Take Care David Matherson.

Decluttering a dashboard by squeezing everything into a central display screen is not innovative. It's lazy, annoying and unsafe.
