I just started on a mostly plant based whole foods diet, and about 5 weeks in, my face broke out like crazy. My family then started looking at what could be the cause, and we found out I was getting to much B12. It's recommended to supply the diet with B12, because you no longer get it through animal products. So I bought B12 at Walmart and took the recommended dose it said on the package - 2500mcg/day! When I started to break out we found out that this was way too much. Also because I was adding nutritional yeast to a lot of the cooking. Now it's been 2 weeks since I stopped taking B12 supplement, and it's already helped a lot. Just a heads up - it could also be too much B12 making your skin break out.
