was going to ask which to choose between cumulus 26 and the novablast 4, but I got my answer when you explained about the durability aspect 😂. Asics should've reduced the midsole stackheight (a 35-27mm for example would've been more than enough for a daily trainer) and add some real outsole rubber, so they can add durability without adding too much weight.

Which of the two is most similar to the Glideride 3?

The Cumulus looks great except for the lack of outsole. I'm thinking about the Noosa Tri 16 for myself though, as I like the lightweight trainers as my daily trainers.

I got the Cumulus and I am severely disappointed, the outsole is REALLY slippery and you lose traction on some surfaces. Add to that a high stack foam it's just asking for a rolled ankle at any moment on wet or slippery surfaces. At this price range people should just call out the lack of an outsole for what it is, a measure to make the shoe wear out to make you buy another pair faster. I had higher expectations from Asiscs

Ong Matt still HDR. My eyes hurt because of the light. Thanks for the information on the shoes. I think I’ll go for gt-2000 13…

I tried both shoes in demo runs. I personally liked Cumulus 26 more as a daily trainer. Nimbus felt too much of a shoe aligning with easy/recovery runs. I sink in but do not get a pop back for faster efforts. Cumulus 26 is a lot more versatile shoe. I also demo tested Novablast 4 as well and I feel Novablast 4 is also a clunky shoe very similar to Nimbus 26 now (far from Novablast OG that I loved). But now we have Tri-Noosa 16 which might be preferable overall to Cumulus 26 but I have not tested Tri-Noosa 16.

These Cumulus' rivals are the 1080 and Triumph 20/21?

I have both and I prefer the Gel-Cumulus 26 ! It is a gem of a heel to toe transition. I also prefer it over my Nova Blast 4. All three are great shoes but the Gel-Cumulus 26 is unique and have maybe the best transition ... super addictive shoes to use all day and every day. Run long runs, quick, super fast, easy runs and using it for casual etc .

These would both be great shoes if the Cumulus had a proper outsole and the Nimbus was lighter.

Congrats on 25K!

Hey Matt, does the Cumulus work as a more cushioned shoe for recovery runs? For the very first time Im feeling my feet and sheens ask for cushion for the recovery runs and I didnt want to spend the fortune of the nimbus so was wondering if the cumulus 26 could work?
(Im used to running in Fila KR6, Hoka Mach 5 and Noosa Tri 13)

Is it just me?
I had the Cumulus 25 & it's my 1st Asics shoes. My brain THOUGHT it's a shoes that I'll like yet it ended up...my FEET does NOT like it!😂 1st run in it & it caused me MEGA foot pain...I think it's called "metata something" 😅 I was forced to stop at 7km due to numbness & pain. Also my legs just felt extremely tired.
Tried changing the insole to Triumph 20's TPU insole. Felt a bit better, can ran 10km but still that pain will come at 5th or 6th km & my big toes just kept feeling numb!
After pushing through 100 kms in it, give up on it & gave it to my sister who will only use it for walking.
And due to this BAD experience with my very 1st Asics shoes, I'm kinda SCARED to try another Asics shoes (would LOVE to try another one but not sure which one suits me 😓)

So, i want to buy the nimbus online but today i tried the cumulus and my toes where right at the tip of the shoe. A perfect fit which makes me a little worried.. because at the end of the day it might hurt a bit right? Will it be different for the nimbus? I tried a 41.5cm size..
