I'm still struggling 9 years later. That's why i'm going back in!!! The Reason it's so hard for me is i feel the majority of civilians or so stupid, No selfless commitment dis loyal, back-stabbing too faced fake people that lack courage, discipline, Integrity, Respect for others ... I'm done i'm going back in i cant take it anymore! and i cant wait!!

I love that at 3:00 about not bringing it back with you. That’s what a lot of people don’t understand about being in the military is we’re not the same people as we are while at work

Military in a civilian country

It's either "Thank you for your service" or "You didn't fight for our country, you fought for oil."
Few people have what it takes to be in the military or understand what it means to serve your country. That is why they have a rigorous evaluation process. Those who don't make it are called civilians. Those who do get uniforms, dental, medical, 3 meals a day, a room, and a job.
If you go to work for civilians after, they want you to be all you can be. Well, thats great but, 2 is 1 and 1 is none in the military. But with most civilians 5 is 1, because 2 are on their cellphones and 1 is out of uniform and 1 forgot to set the alarm. They are not trained like the team that you worked with in the military. Just because you were military doesn't mean the civilian "team" is going to be able to work with you. They don't understand the first step of working as a team. How are you supposed to motivate people who don't even know how to make their bed in the morning, wear proper work clothing, or just be on time.
Thanking us for our service is asinine. Do you think we did it for you? No. Some did it to honor our family. Some because we needed direction. And some just needed a job. There are hundreds of reasons why we joined. But I can bet it wasn't for someone we don't know to thank us for our service. What exactly does that mean? Thanks for serving our country, I was too lazy to do it? Oh and good luck finding a job worth a damn when you get back. Nobody wants to hire someone who works hard, (your intense) stays motivated, (anger issues) shows up early to work, (PTSD or insomnia) and wears the proper work attire (showing off).
Some go to war that is not started by them. Some don't go to war but get driven into the ground until they break.
Some, not all, give blood, sweat and tears to be all they can be, only to be used and abused, by the civilians in this country, when they get home. Veteran suicide is on the rise. So much is expected from our military veterans. Military veterans are not perfect. But civilians seem to expect it even though they are far from perfect themselves. You get what you put into anything. If you don't put your time, love and patience into your military veterans, then what do they have to look forward to. Don't expect more from your veterans, than you are willing to give yourself.

I decided to Discharge as of right after 14 weeks basic training in the British Army because I don't feel ready for the army. I literally learned everything. Just had to be tested on it all. I already feel alone and isolated. Worrying about what to do next, but I don't want to re enlist yet as I'm not ready.

I guest most of american soldier never reach the age and year of optional or mandatory retirement. In other country you can only consider as veteran if you completed 20 years of service, a required year of service for optional retirement. But world war 2 veterans is exempted.

Marines. Oohrah. Got out in 98. Foot still on the pedal.

I still use the experience and skills acquired from the Marines till this day; and the veterans benefits too.

Always have a mission or missions; especially in CivDiv. Didn't miss a beat. High speed low drag. And I can do 22 dead hang pull ups. Probably can't run worth a dam, but oh well

You don't have to be in the military to have missions or objectives or targets to hit. Just make them up as you move along and always Kiss (keep it simple stupid)

COVID has definitely made the struggle more real. Being a civilian sucks. Hopefully I can go back in. I only put in four years, I can't even stand one as a civilian.

Killing is very unnatural and getting ptsd and other anxieties is just a result of committing atrocities.
