All of my videos (except my last two) use music from the YouTube Audio Library. And you're totally right about how time consuming it is to filter through their content. However, I've developed a system for building an organized catalogue of tunes that takes some work at first but over time builds into an organized database. First, I filter out all options that require attribution. This narrows down the pile and helps me focus by eliminating any need to worry about citing sources etc. Then maybe once per month, I sit down for an hour and just listen to the first 10-30 seconds of every NEW song in a given genre with my eyes closed and take note of what images or feelings pop into my head. As I go down the list, I download the songs that evoke the most vivid imagery and "keyword tag" the audio file with associated phrases (e.g. suspense, nostalgia, driving, morning, spooky, adventure, transition, conclusive etc.). Now whenever I need a song for a video I just search my drive for whatever feeling I am trying to evoke in a scene. Over time as I repeatedly listen to my "library" of non-copyright music, I notice new things in individual tracks that become new keyword tags. Now I can pretty much come up with several options for any given scenario (many off the top of my head) and I've even started recognizing songs in other people's videos. If someone else uses a song in a way I hadn't thought of, the file gets keyword tagged again and my database becomes that much more effective.

Examples:
Flight of the Valkyries = "Kill da WABBIT!"
Like You Mean It = James Browney
Temps = Nostalgic
Guava Juice = Nostalgic America
Blue Macaw = Bourne Identity
The Nexus Riddim = Island Montage
Smooth Talker = "Bow chicka wowow!"
Plex = Cities of the Future
Head Candy = Casey Music
If I had a Chicken = Buster Keaton, Slapstick, bloopers

I have more but you get the point.
Anyway, I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you need suggestions for specific situations. ✌️

Sometimes with copyright-free music like from NoCopyRightSounds, the owner of the song can change the copyrights to the song, sometimes you can a copyright it hit claim if they have changed the copyrights

I use music from the YouTube audio library all the time! I like upbeat music for my stuff, so I tend to stick with Hip Hop & Rap, or Dance & Electronic. Sometimes I'll do R&B and Soul with a bright or inspirational mood. That usually gets me what I want!

Started a making cooking videos during this quarantine out of boredom...got hooked, but challenged by background music and usage. This is very helpful...thanks! I wish there were some more choices in Youtube audio library though....

YouTube audio library is good but it's not upto the mark. But for starting there are definitely many songs that we can use in the audio library. As we grow we can explore various other options such as epidemic sound ( which I feel is the best ) but costs 15$ a month and then here and there some songs from nocopyrightsounds, nocopyrightnation, and vlognocopyrightmusic, these songs may require attribution so do include them in your video description. Enjoy your day 🙂

I made 2 videos.

I used filters and marked favorites, then cherry picked that list; really solid.

"Never really 100 percent sure". This has been very true for me with Audiojungle. Several times YouTube reported that I was using music copyrighted by X when Audiojungle said it was from Y. So nowadays I mostly use iMovie's own libray, or Incompetech's music.

Yes, I have used Audio Library extensively. I like to search for Hip-Hop - Bright or Funk... a lot of decent music. Some of the artists are better than others.

Also a pro tip, sometimes it’s a good idea to use a song, to connect a song into a part of the video
