I'm literally getting ready to disassemble my ps4 and clean it. I know it's packed with dust and grime. It sounds like a f-35 fighter jet in action while I play it. I have a fan facing it on full blast to keep it cool.

I've opened my 7 year old ps4 for the 1st time today and I was shocked how little dust there was inside it, i keep mine in an upright position and on a fan assisted stand which makes more noise than the playstation, with about 10 cotton buds it was clean. Alls i need now is a bigger hdd or better still a PS5.

I figured it’s time to clean my PS4. I have not opened mine since launch and I can see some dust 🐰 along the sides. I don’t know why, but for some reason, it looked pretty clean. I also have never had the PS4 upright. Out of all the PS4 cleaning videos, this was one of the most informative and straight to the point in less than 3 minutes. My friend had his ps4 for three years always had a flat not vertical and last year it started to sound like a jet Engine he knows I have electric duster he came over I opened it so much dust everywhere he had in the cabinet I told him to leave in an open area

I had your same experience. My PS4 is the OG model and the first time I opened it the fan was maybe a little dustier than yours, but nothing tragic. I always kept it horizontal below my TV.

I clicked on this video hoping for a step by step process to follow so I could clean mine but no, I got this. You cleaned your ps4, cool, how did you do it? What were the steps? All the pros say it's super simple but some of us like myself have no idea what the fuck we're doing and don't want to break something we spent $400 on and don't have the money to pay someone to clean it.

Also, pro tip:

If you are playing a game that tends to overheat your PS4, like Red Dead Redemption 2 in my case, getting the covers off and cleanning the fan can really help the console from overheating and suddenly closing.
