I love how he IMMEDIATELY acknowledged the pass as soon as he scored, and everyone was as pumped for Smith as they were for McD.

Smith needed this and his reaction says it all after McDavid scored

Sharks fan here. As soon as I saw there was a long stretch pass, I knew the game was over. Sure enough, right to mcdavid and there was no stopping that. Just a perfect play.

You won't see a more perfect pass from a goaltender. That was just from Smith.

Say what you want about Mike Smith. I've absolutely always loved his puck handling ability. I think that skillset is underrated as hell in goalies. The potential for offensive and defensive upside is massive, and we've seen it but it still gets slept on.

I think the in sync celebration with McDavid and Smith is hat pick by its self. Wish there was better shot of it. 1:45

Man Jack Michaels in so good in overtime. His overtime calls when Edmonton wins gives me chills every time, and I've seen this like six times.
In the interview they said McDavid and Smith were trying to do this for some time but never had a chance to try it in a real game, and they figured this was one of the best ways to try it.
As an Oilers fan I adore Smith. I love him so much, mainly because I ever made it into the NHL (I didn't have the money to learn to skate so I play ball hockey) I would be like him. I love his heart and competitive spirit, I just feel so bad for him and how we've treated him when he plays behind terrible defenders (he hasn't been great himself, I'm not blind). I understand he won't be around for cup run, but I hope he is for someone because few people fight harder than him. Smith's games in California have been so good, easily his two best games since he had that terrible injury in October. Speaking of injury, he tweaked his foot again in the third but he had played so well he told the trainers he wanted to fight it through and finish the game. I love this man and this team with all of my heart and this is a great example of why.

One of the nicest passes I've ever seen from a goal tender and mcdavid does it again. From leafs fans, what a play what a goal !!

From a Leafs fan: WOW!

Edmonton is my fav western conference team (harkening back to the Gretzky era when I was a kid). I’d love to see Edmonton vs Toronto in the finals.

When a goalie has as many or more points than goals allowed, you know he had a good game.

Great awareness by Smithy! Good hustle by McJesus to skate in to it. Not much Burnsy could do there. Optimus Reim looked like he got deceptaconned LoL

The fact that Smith just through it down the ice knowing mcdavid would get it instead of forcing it directly to him made the play!

What's even MORE impressive over the sick pass by Smith is that McDavid turned up ice in anticipation.... just beautiful.

What a play by Smith…love it!
The goal that’s a given, it’s Mcdavid after all.
