Car Alarm Removal & Upgrade - Old School Viper 650 Classic to a brand new 3305V

I needed to upgrade the Viper car alarm in the 1992 Mustang DECH Yellow Notch. The limited functionality and a few other quirks pushed me over the edge to upgrade. It's amazing after all these years the harnesses have barely changed! I am so happy to have keyless entry and a trunk release!

Great work, Chris. So very true, patience and taking your time is a must when you have a 30+ year old fox with unknown wiring modifications. 1 wire at a time!

Such cool cars and projects in the shop. Thanks for the continued tip quality content! (see what we did there ..)

That is some old azz shiznick😁right there! DEI alarms are definitely the most iconic in the industry. Being an installer it's really cool to see Foxbody lovers keeping it "back in the day "

Good work Chris! Wiring is my LEAST favorite thing to do! Lots of beer and patience! You make it look easy!

Im nostalgic for sure. I still put pioneer stereo in not just my 80s vehicles but my newer stuff that dont have the more modern type stuff in it. And i even buy my batteries from advance just to have that 80s die hard logo under the hood even though they are not as good as they were at sears.

Awesome! I have that same Viper Alarm that you took out in my 92 from back in the day….. still works like a charm but thinking of upgrading as well. Thanks for posting this.

Nothing beats the old school Pioneer CD player with the dolphins display.

I just found your channel. I have the similar DEI alarm / remote start alarm in my 1991 Explorer. I don't have an issue finding the batteries. The alarm was in my Explorer when I bought it back in 2003. Love the MB Quart 3-ways. I have a serious collection of 90's MB Quart speakers including the blue 2-way and 3-way Competition crossovers. I am also doing a period correct Alpine / MB Quart stereo and Alpine 8040 alarm that has the proximity sensor and dedicated pager in my 86 Fiero. Loving your project and you gained a Subscriber!

Back in the day when I was really big in systems and alarms I’d always laugh and when shops would only pay installers pennies on the dollar to hook that stuff up and people would wonder why it worked terrible 😂 nice work Chris 👊🍻

Have the same system I’ve always wonder why the antenna signal on the remote is never full bar when close to the car.

No alarm system on my Foxbody (fortunately), but did buy a used Tahoe with one installed.

Don’t know how it works, looks like a mess of wires; as long as it doesn’t go ’off’ it will stay untouched until the truck is crushed.😂
