I found a Stanley no 4 at a car-boot sale for £1.50 yes £1.50 never have i payed a man so fast. Best plane ive restored and it's leveled my floor boards a beauty.

I inherited an almost excact plane like yours from my grandpa who died in 2013. I use it alot today with a new blade and its supergood. But Im curious to how old the plane is. Is there any way to figure that out?

I still have a no 4 and no 5
But I have been transitioning to Japanese hand planes.
