Wingspan is a competitive, medium-weight, card-driven, engine-building board game from Stonemaier Games. It's designed by Elizabeth Hargrave and features over 170 birds illustrated by Beth Sobel, Natalia Rojas, and Ana Maria Martinez.

You are bird enthusiasts—researchers, bird watchers, ornithologists, and collectors—seeking to discover and attract the best birds to your network of wildlife preserves. Each bird extends a chain of powerful combinations in one of your habitats (actions). These habitats focus on several key aspects of growth:

Gain food tokens via custom dice in a birdfeeder dice tower
Lay eggs using egg miniatures in a variety of colors
Draw from hundreds of unique bird cards and play them
The winner is the player with the most points after 4 rounds.

I recall acquiring this game by luck when I dropped by a local store and they had a copy. I got it and tried and didnt particularly love it. I was ready to resell especially since it was resold at a profit. My wife didnt want me to. I kept it and later a couple of friends came over and we pulled it out...they loved it...It grew a little on me...They came back every week or two and this was always our pick for that night and over time I loved it more and more and more to the point where now Its a 100% keeper that I actually miss playing when I dont play for a while.

I am looking for a board game with option of one player and came across this game and then to your video. I love birds and learning so this looks like a good beginner game for me. Thanks for the video-- you helped me to decide to get this game. I will likely be learning it on my own if you have any video recommendations that would be great.

Good overview, thanks for the effort 👍 for the future; when you are showing the anatomy of a card, it would be great if you could zoom or post production a closeup of it so people can see what you are referring to.
