The digital version of Wingspan is exceptional. While it's currently just the base game, the upgrades in ease of use due to being digital makes it absolutely worth getting in addition to the physical game. Not having to shuffle hundreds of cards is itself amazing, but I personally enjoy the fact that EVERY card in the game has its corresponding bird call when you play it. Game has some great music too.

Great video, highlighting something that often gets overlooked in our hobby. The world around us and the effects that certain products can have on the world. At the same time that product can teach us a great deal about our little feathered friends.
I actually had a chance to be in the area where that one bird was from, and they do ecotours to the island but we were unable to get all the way down to that point in New Zealand. Just ran out of time.

If you had told me the premise of this video beforehand, I would have sworn there is no way it would work, but I was mesmerized. The genuine enthusiasm really comes across. I was pretty excited for the Oceania expansion when I heard about it. Even picked up the Euro one after I saw it in a sale. Turned out a little disappointing. For a start I didn’t know how to fit it in the base box.

Then I find New Zealand is lumped in with Australia. Two distinct geographically isolated locations that have evolved very different species of birds.

And then there was none of my favourite birds. Just the ones that guano my car every morning. Johnathan Livingston, I’m looking at you.

Our NZ falcon is way cooler than the brown falcon. Only one penguin with little blue? No morepork or kea or whio? No shags, mollymawks, and most of all no albatrosses, the bird that defies all wingspans!?!

Btw it’s kah-kah-poe with a bit of “paw” mixed in at the end and the Whio is the beautiful blue duck. You’d love that one.
