I am a Greek. I studied in Bulgaria. To learn the language, i did one year of school. It was a totally weird and different language than mine. The Skopians (you know them as North Macedonians) did only 3 months Bulgarian language because of the resemblance. I had Skopian friends and when they talked i understood everything because of the fact i knew Bulgarian. So i challenge any "North Macedonian" to come to Greece and read the ancient Greek scriptures. They simply can't. It is not their language.

The most famous Macedonian was Alexander the Great, he was enculturated as a Greek tutored by by the famous philosopher Aristotle .Slavs were fifth to seventh century invaders. The tribal invaders did not totally wipe out the natives but absorbed them.

In order to understand things better it's enough to see the ancient monuments of Phillipi. All the inscriptions are in Greek. They so called Macedonians in the former Yugoslavia, they speak Albanian and a type of Bulgarian.

I understand that after the breakup of Yugoslavia you were looking for a national identity, but...another is the region of Macedonia, which in the time of Alexander the great contained territories from today's Slavic countries, and another is Macedonia as a state that existed in antiquity.The fact that today the Skopians live in lands that were once Macedonian does not mean that they are Macedonian!!
The Macedonians were Greek people. They spoke Greek, they had Greek culture and Alexander the Great had Aristotle as his teacher and believe me, they didn't have a translator when they were teaching!!Read some history, you are Slavs and it is a shame to deny your origin and steal from Greek history!!
