Drilled rotors tend to crack though when they overheat nowadays it’s just to look cool I don’t think you really need them

one thing to mention is the proper direction to install the slot/drilled rotors. the veins should give it away..if they're perpendicular, slots can go in any direction..but if they're exit is angled, they are specific (a screw driver helps determine which type you have)

True... I drive spiritedly at times, and I do notice how my heavy suv feels like, when braking suddenly in extreme heat. Its' effectiveness deminish drastically with the stock rotor and secondly my vehicle is heavy so it needs distance to be effective otherwise ill have to swerve to the side to avoid front collision. Hence why I opted for the slotted and ventilated brake rotor for the front as that's where all the brake force is apply heavily. The rear, I left it in stock since it doesn't required a lot of brake force and all the weight shifts to the front more than the rear. In conjested traffic none of that matter. Its at high speed where braking in emergency is critical and the shorter the distance it take to stop a heavy vehicle the better off you will not smash into the vehicle in front especially those that cuts off other driver in high speed.

I really enjoy hearing the Ram Ranch theme in the back while trying to concentrate on a guy talking. You know, instead of some calm elevator music or something.

It's important to say that slotted rotors will grind you break pads down more quickly. Its debated, but enough people say that it does. For large trucks and haulers, they make sense. For small cars you just drive daily, they are better off with just plain rotors.

So basically drilled/slots brake better and get rid of heat that can warp your rotor, but they grind away your pads quicker 🤔

Definitely needed on my 07 Escalade 409 hp 215 lbs of torque. The factory breaks brand new were garbage.
I also have a 6000 pound boat.

The slots pointing forward, help keep the brake pads wearing flat and ejecting the hot brake dust outward away from the caliper by centrifugal force. That brake dust is hot enough to stick to steel, so I would say it makes a big difference in the way the direction of the slots are pointing..?

I have drilled and slotted performance stop rotors and brake pads. When I brake it notice a clicking sound. I was told it's the calipers rubbing against the slots or holes in the rotors. Is this normal?

if you take a regular rotors and drill the holes or slots it will not became better, true slotted and drill rotors are made from the different carbide metal, they mostly use in bikes and fast cars, what you need is a good sets of tires!

Motorcycle brake rotors are all drilled. They used to be plain right up to the late 80s, then they're almost universally drilled and floated, but never slotted. About 15 years ago we also started seeing petal or wave rotors. Maybe that's why even sintered brake pads don't last beyond 15000-20000km of normal riding.

I installed a new set of slotted and drilled rotor, together with new pad set. But recently when I hard brake, I feel brake pulsating. What can be the cause?
