Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC One X - Hands On and Comparison

i was asking the same quesion a week ago.. i went for the S3 for 3 main reasons : microSD, better UI performance ( didnt see any android lag which is quite noticable in HTC Sense UI ), removable battery.

My missus has the s3, and I have the one x. I'm very technologically savvy, and every purchase I make is an educated one, and I can confirm that for various reasons, there is no second best, so which ever you own, just enjoy it. I do love both screens for different reasons, but wanted to revert back to HTC sense after using touchwiz on the gnote, and the gs2. Sense 4.0 on the one x is a very thorough creation, and it's a delight to use, but again touchwiz is certainly good :)

I would pick S3, simply because it has a stay on feature that allows the screen to stay active; for as long as we view the phone & nifty feature that lets us call a contact just by placing the phone on our ear.

I don't like how on the SGS3, you can still clearly see this black gap between the glass and the screen itself. It looks like as if the screen is indented. On the One X, it's different, there is hardly any gap between the glass and the screen, it kind of feels like the screen is actually floating above the glass, giving much better depth and viewing angle on the One X.

Have a upgrade coming. I'm leaning towards the s3, I'm getting a little bored with htc sense, and want a better camera for a change! I will definitely compare the s3 and one X in person though when the s3 gets to the states before I make my choice. Either way they both look great to me. Tough decision for me.

I own the One X and it's a great phone! There are some features on Touchwiz that Sense just doesn't have. Also, because Sense always rescales fonts for easy viewing it can make web browsing seem a bit laggy (because the CPUs are a lot busier). Battery life is honestly not an issue with the One X, it lasts all day easily. I'll be honest, I got the One X purely for Tegra 3. As a phone I think the Sammy is better though. I just love games :)

sg3 has also good sound quality it has a wolfson DAC (im not sure which exact version) but it is very appreciated by audiophiles (people who love high quality audio such as music codecs, headphones n all that stuff)

It does suck that LTE won't be available until december on the sgs3 but i can wait. Who knows, by that time, samsung might add more cool stuff for the holiday season, plus it's always good to wait when something new comes out, new doesn't always equal perfect. You have to launch the product to really know the pros and cons on any device.

How can so many people say which phone is better basing merely on their appearance and display? And yet I'm pretty sure most of the people leaving comments haven't even seen the SG3 on their hands. It's just ridiculous to me for someone to say which phone is better when the phone isn't even out yet. It's just sad that not much people cared about the feature of the phone. They just look at the design and say which phone is better. No wonder why the iPhone is so popular.

There's an app called 'stick it' that allows you watch videos while browsing. It shows that the HTC one x is badass, you can have 3 videos at a time running while texting and such. It's a nice novelty, and didn't have to be jealous for too long haha.

love the one x, but the s3 wins for me because of the battery (both larger, and user-replaceable).
sure you could squeeze a full days usage out of it with the 4+1 core, but the "quad cores" can't be used for the majority of the time if it is to last a day..

they both have their own strengths. Not everyone has the same taste. I personally like the S3 and others like iPhones, the Lumia, the One X and Sony etc.. It doesn't matter which phone is better because at the end of the day - if you're happy, then that's what is important.

(I couldn't fit this on in the other comment) The better hardware obviously ensures future-proofing, but at the same time, such small differences in hardware means that they're both going to last a very long time. My HD2 was made in 2009 and released with Windows Mobile. It currently runs Android 4.0 better than many devices, and with quadrant scores coming in around 100 less than a Galaxy Nexus. The hardware is always important, but developers can make the software last seemingly forever ;)

i am glad that Porsche decided to build cars after Mercedes started it all. So how about you continue to cruise around in your Mercedes, while some others prefer a Porsche because that's what these phones are compared to an old fashioned iPhone :)
