Look into plusnuts. They are the next best thing. They don’t require as precise fitment. They also don’t come loose and spin inside the panel like rivnuts.

I cringned when you were drilling the floor. I had a CargoGlide installed last week in my new Tacoma. I did not discover the hole they drilled in the gas tank filler tube during the intall until I was 2.5 hours away from home and unable to put fuel in the truck. Rental car and repairs on them!
