Folktales of India - Tales from Odisha - When Humans Had Tails
Показать описание
This is an abridged version of the Saura folktale from the state of Odisha (formerly Orissa) in eastern India, retold from 'When the World was Young' by Verrier Elwin.
The story is associated with the Saura Tribes of Odisha, who believed that there was a time when humans had tails. And it shows the events that transpired into the human race losing their tails forever. This folktale is illustrated in the style of Saura tribal paintings, which are visually similar to Warli paintings and they hold religious significance for the Sauras.
