This is a folktale from the state of Tripura in North-eastern India, abridged from the book on Folktales of Tripura by D.K Tyagi
The story revolves around how the beautiful flowers of kherengbar have no scent due to a mere curse fallen upon a couple who go to celebrate a local festival in their village. This folktale is illustrated in the style of Alpona gram mural paintings, which try to preserve the Tripura culture by painting the walls of the village
