Would find those egg capsules (diameter of a nickel) around 1980 in the sound of Long Island. There would be tiny shells in the segments.

I found what I believe to be a freshwater conch shell in a dry bed off the 11 point River in southern Missouri and I was wondering if anyone had any information about freshwater conch?

I have some fossil shells from Ft. DeSoto where I trained for environmental and historical interpretation! Some are from Madeira Beach area and from Clearwater to Sarasota. Many I collected live from Mad beach after a huge storm brought tons of organisms in from the Gulf of Mexico in 1993!
