10 years 1book1review and some channel goals

Thank you for being part of my booktube experience. It's been 10 years and my take on the channel has changed over time. This is me stating where I am now and what I have planned for the future.

Wow, ten years, congratulations!
I only discovered BookTube in 2018, but you were one of the first channels I subscribed to and I really enjoy your videos, especially because you talk about all sorts of backlist books.
You've also made me listen to the Murderbot series, which isn't my usual reading, so I'm really grateful for that 😁

Congratulations on the anniversary milestone! Totally relate to staring at a computer all day - add to that the pandemic and for me at least the overabundance of Zoom calls and sometimes it's not easy to shoot and edit a video. I definitely agree with you about analysis. I rarely watch reviews of books I haven’t read, mostly because I like going into books pretty blind.

I also agree about not feeling a part of the community—I’ve been a small Booktuber the whole time I’ve been doing this—Booktube is so focused on YA and new releases and that’s just not me.

Ten years!
I think you are right about videos with too much analysis taking away from the inspiring people to read. I think with classics with a difficult reputation the analysis can make those books seem more accessible. But, with most books just giving readers an idea of the book is probably best.

I totally agree with a lot of the things you said. I definitely want to focus on making more book reviews and enjoying books more simply. I don’t want it to be about the numbers for me.
