I never thought Dostoyevsky would be called "my boy, D-Money".
Consider myself subbed!

This is exactly the type of video I wanted on this topic. Personal and also beautifully insightful.

I am awestruck. The time and energy you put into analyzing this piece is honorable. You do a superb job here, joining humane properties, like reading mistakes and stutters, with pure innocent and whacky facial expressions, all while still exercising precise word description that unpacks difficult themes with a tremendously smooth sweetness. Your foundation is strong and solid, and your research into the EXTRA, is just stunning. You are truely a next level thinker. I can feel your wisdom and curiosity through the phone screen.

I saw the thumbnail and figured your external beauty would outweigh your perspective. But i know now, your internal light is what makes your outer beauty shine bright. Im rooting for you.

I'm glad that I found your channel. You speak in a very calm, concise manner and your voice and speaking is very calming. I hate those loud, shouty, overexcited booktok who promote over consumption. You seem to really like reading and appreciate it as a hobby.

I just finished it last night and I like watching reviews after a read, I couldn’t agree more with you about this book and d money lol. Alyosha was also my favorite too, the only thing I was just disappointed in alyosha and fenya’s relationship and how we never heard anything more I liked their dynamic and banner. Great review though! Reading the idiot next!

Dostojewskijs Books are the pinnacle of written words. His ideas and stories describe humanness to the very core. His words are from highly intellectual origin but are delivered with such modesty that they nurtured my soul more than my brain. As a writer he was able to control his Ego better than most of his collegues. Maybe Kafka did this part better. But of course Kafkas work was nowhere near the artistry of Dostojewskijs. Although his portrayal of women is simple and not as complex as that of his male characters, he still gave them some depth in comparison to many of his contemporaries. For me Dostojewskij was, is and will be great.

I read this one this year. This book will stay with me forever I think. It also took me about 8 weeks to read, and it’s so worth it. I think about the things that happen in this book all the time. It’s converted me back to Christianity also.

Ive never read full book but when I was in college read "The Grand Inquistor". One of the greatest pieces of philosophical thought. Your review made me think.maybe I will read book sometime in future.

I wish I was exposed this genre when I young lad. Everything of Tolstoy, Cervantes, and Dostoyevsky are classics that I can’t get enough of.

Glad I found your channel! This was a very insightful review, it’s like I can’t find any people of color like me on youtube that are into the more classical literature and this breakdown was great. I feel the same way about Marx, lol.

Just finished this earlier today. Even spending what felt like a lot of time dedicated to reading it, still took almost 2 weeks. Excellent book that is getting better in my mind the more I think about it.

I literally just finished Brothers K. Love it, and relate to all the brothers in some many ways, as is most likely something many can claim. I also just read White Nights for the first time. It’s sad in a sweet way.

I read it a few months ago and it's now one of my favourite books. The Idiot and Demons are next on my list.

Just parroting the absolute love for the brothers Karamazov. Among the most perfect of books. My favorite has to be Crime and punishment personally, and TBK got me in a tear of Russian literature that took 5 months to work through. Great review!

Amazing! Have you ever changed translations? Not with this book in particular, but with Big D in general. In re-reads or maybe trying different ones of the same book while reading it.

This was a great book, though I had mixed feeling about it when I first started reading it. It took me some time to get used to the dialogue/monologue format where a conversation between two people turns into one person going off on a monologue for ten pages. Still, I was glad to stick with it, and found getting through this book to the end a rewarding experience.
