If you're only interested in zombies, this movie may not be for you. This movie focuses more on domestic drama with zombies as a secondary element. The pacing is slow, so there may be times when you feel bored. However, if you enjoy psychological thrillers, you may appreciate the film. I personally like it story-wise.

This movie starts just like any zombie flick, but the second half is really intense. In many ways it has bought uniqueness and gripping psychological drama to this genre. Great stuff coming out of Philippines.

This movie screams quality. Honestly, I did not expect it to be this good. I felt proud and happy that my home country can produce good movies like this (plus its setting is mostly in a sugarcane farm which is very filipino). The tone and the vibe of the countryside.

Sid Lucero's acting gave me chills, it felt too real he needs to be applauded for this. I hope he bags awards for his outstanding performance. Beauty is really a beauty even without the glam. I couldn't think of another actress playing her role, it is hers only. The kids, they are the future stars of the industry. ❤

Tbh I love this psycho-thriller movie. The zombie theme is just used as a circumstance plot to carryout the main purpose of the movie, which is to show that there's nothing more horrific than our own state of mind and choices we make to survive. Things we thought that could kill us actually saved us if we only listen reasonably and open our heart. Sid Lucero's character may have been close-minded, stubborn, and unpredictable the entire time in the movie but in the end, he seems right after all. May kahabaan lang talaga 2 hours and more than 20 mins din eh. Sana cut na lang nila yung ibang scenes sa umpisa and made it 1 hr and 55 mins mas okay na sana pero all-in-all it's a really good movie it's not like Walking Dead na puro chasing away zombies or Train to Busan na more on running away from zombie attacks to get through Busan. This movie will not make you paasa to dream that there will be good ending and everything will turn into rainbow, this movie is about facing the most challenging reality of surviving what's left from your humanity. That's why I rate it 4/5.

may nabasa akong theory dito sa comments and habang binabasa ko ung tungkol dito, mas nagm make sense ung hula nya.. sabi na childhood ng protag ung farmhouse and years of pain is definitely between the protag and his family.. maybe schizophrenic ung protag, killed his family.. may nabanggit din si Beauty Gonzales tungkol sa libro na "bakit galit ang magulang nya, kasi nagsisinungaling ung bata" so definitely tungkol to sa protag at family nya.. even tho madali matrack ung theme, i think its still worth the watch considering na magaling ung director, ung lore makes it more interesting, and the visuals is already looking good.. papanoorin🫶🫶🫶

My personal (long) review (Might spoil you a bit)

I'll rate this 9/10 it is so damn good.

Gustong gusto ko sana mapanood yung before, ano nangyari ganon but like okay lang din naman andon talaga kasi tayo sa point ng point of view ng pamilya (nasama rin history/background ng pamilya kahit walang flashbacks which is so cool) hindi focus sa mga zombies and ibang tao.

But I actually liked the idea sa nangyari kay francis sa dulo at si joshua pa yung nakagawa which is di naman sinasadya. Kasi like that's literally the only way and last resort na yun. That's like the "tama na pa" na way nya na di naman nya sinasadya na magawa yun.

Kulang lang siguro ako sa ending like huh yun na yon, naka punta ba sila doon sa camp? How was the city? Baka napasukan na rin yung camp?

Also isa rin to sa mga nagustuhan ko, nakakapagsalita ng konti mga zombie parang yunv japanese Zombie Film na I am a Hero, grabe yung mga sinasabi ng mga zombie.

Yung unang encounter sa movie: "Sorry"

Yung asa tulay sila: "Help me"

Yung tapat ng simbahan: "Sa ngalan ng ama ng anak"

Like those little details, naiimagine mo na agad yung backstory nila before they turned.

The effects, cinematography, the drama, esp yung nakulong nanaman sya doon sa basement grabe ang galing ng emotions and yung way ng pag ka scream/breakdown nya.

Ang daming symbolism sa dulo which is sobrang nagustuhan ko. Siguro I just need a little bit of closure.

Talagang dumeretsyo sa psychological genre eh. Yung father na unting unting nag descend sa madness. Like aftermath talaga ng mental health and past traumas and what and how PTSD and more can really ruin you.

Ako lang naman for me, sobrang nagustuhan ko sya kahit na nasanay ako sa ibanh mga zombie na favorite ko rin. It's just that sobrang na appreciate ko yung symbolism and yung mental health/psychological aspects throughout the movie. Not the "best zombie film" for me but the "best psychological thriller zombie film".
