After a week of researching different types of pressure canners, we decided to buy the All American 1930 - 21.5qt Pressure Cooker/Canner... and we are so glad we did! Our experience with this canner has been awesome and it is really nice to be able to preserve jars of food in our pantry instead of freezing.

The instruction manual that comes with the All American Canner is very helpful and easy to navigate through. It explains things thoroughly and also comes with a bunch of recipes.

ALWAYS after slightly tightening the wing nuts on the cover...bend down so that your eyes can see if the cover is EVEN and LEVEL with the base ... you might have it slightly crooked, and NOW is the time to fix that ...just loosen the low side and tighten the high side until you see the cover move in that perfect position...perfectly even space all the way around...

I did as much research as possible to determine if my 25 quart pressure sterilizer ( converted to canner with vent pipe, pressure regulator weight, new pressure relief plug AND just because I should, new pressure gauge) will be too large for my fridge.
After a lot of digging around on the internet, I found that the maximum that the base should overhang the actual element should be no more than 1 inch...mine is 1 1/4 inches, so I'm just fine with being 1/4" out of tolerance.
PS: I have Cancer, throat cancer ... can't eat anything for many, many mouths until I get better. I assumed I would have to throw out all my freezer before it's all freezer burnt and THEN I said to myself. . . " I found an All American 25 quart sterilizer/canner at a flea market for 20 bucks and it's sitting in the cubby hole doing nothing for 5 years....not now.
I have pressure canned ALL the Fish, the Steaks, the roasts, the Chickens, the Lean Hamburger, the Briskets ...hell ...ALL of it ... God Bless That person that sold a 700 dollar pressure cooker to me for 20 bucks...Canadian.
