Sen. Bernie Sanders said that if he is elected president, he would restore legal protections for those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, change official U.S. policy at the border, and introduce bipartisan legislation that would result in a path toward citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants. Sanders is one of the seven Democrats vying for their party's 2020 presidential nomination who met on the stage for the sixth Democratic debate on Dec. 19, hosted by the PBS NewsHour and POLITICO.
