How to use the HORL®2 sharpener

In this video, we explain in detail how to use the HORL sharpener and how you can sharpen knives of different sizes with it. First, attach the knife at the magnetic angle support at the desired angle. To do this, one hand holds the magnetic angle support in a relaxed position. With the other hand, the knife is then attached to the S-pad by moving it towards the magnetic angle support. Then the diamond grinding disc is moved back and forth along the knife edge without applying much pressure. In the next step, the knife is levered off to the side and fixed from the other side so that the diamond grinding disc can also move back and forth here.
Report the steps again in combination with the ceramic honing disc, which further refines the result of the diamond grinding disc.

If you want to sharpen small knives, you can simply fix them to the S-pad at the desired height on the magnetic angle support. If the cutting edge of a large knife extends beyond the diamond grinding disc due to its size, you can increase the rolling path of the HORL with a cutting board, for example. After using the sharpener, we recommend that you clean the ground knife thoroughly for final sharpness.

Ok I’m always confused with the option of the 3 sets you guys offer and what they come with in the box…let say I want the most expensive one you have….why is that better and if I can change discs how many discs does it have?

Is the angle tru? All blades has different thickness and width. If i use it on my 7mm thick blade will the angle stay tru at 20°?
If i use it on my boning knife, i will have to make sure the blade is higher up so the edge is expos, to be sharpening, ... but wont that Change the angle by a couple degrees?
Having fixed angle IMO doesnt do for me... Thickness and width of blade will change the angle by more than you think... I rather have the option to adjust my angle.

Maybe make a angle adjustable block?

When do you use the 15 degree vs 20 degree? Does it matter which blade I use that for?

Stone could do with being an inch bigger, great sharpening tool just struggled with the bigger blade

The angle wedge needs to be slightly longer as in more surface connection to the blade and taller as well. Just slightly would do. There needs to be a way to get the tips better. The price isnt that bad however the 3000 and 6000 should be included. I was disgusted when I found out they werent. It is a great tool with pros and cons. Needs a bit of tweeking. Time will tell if I feel ripped off.

Pretty sad, my horl broke after 2 weeks of use... the grinding side won't screw back in anymore, a lot of money spent for it to break that quick.

I bought the most expensive one and it made all my blades dull. This is the biggest scam ever.

You realize that you roll a flat plate straight against a curved blade. You know geometry right? You know what will happen to a curved blade on the long run don't you? You're inevitably gonna grind its geometry off. It's just mathematics - there is no other outcome. This would work fine for a Nakiri or some other cleavers. But curved blades will be ruined after some time of using this setup.
