What do you do now that winter is almost over and the plant is all brown? cut it back to the bottom?

Fishiling line will be a massive hazard for birds. Like could result in entaglment, mutilation or even death. Suggest somethijg like twine or soft netting

1) This isn't Niobe
2) That's a hosta, not a hydrangea
3) Head in the sun, feet in the shade is a myth. Clematis are no different to any other plant.

I started 4 from bare root 2 died the 1st year .. 2 years later and the other 2 are finally growing and making flowers..

Not sure ill get them as bare root again .. I think ill get some already making flowers. Lol
