As a veterinary professional, I really enjoyed your video and your nutritional information. Only one minor correction that I think you would like to know: dogs are omnivores not carnivores. Their intestinal tract is actually longer than obligatory carnivores like cats but shorter than an herbivore's tract like a sheep or horse. That extra length allows them to process plant material as well as meat. There have even been studies of wolves in the wild that have found that they regularly eat plants, berries, and grains growing wild in addition to the plant material in their prey's stomach. You're absolutely right that meat should be the # 1 ingredient in your dog food, but vegetables and a small amount of carbohydrates are also important for dogs. Their carbohydrate requirement is much lower than what is in most dog foods, but some whole grain ingredient is important for fiber and digestion. But yes most dog food companies use carbohydrates as cheap fillers (and way too much of it) and if it's not a whole grain variety it does not have any nutritional value. Thank you for all the research you put into this video! : ) ♥️ And I love the way you broke down how each type of food is processed!

I Love your communication style ! You're Teaching information we're so hungry for. We've been so duped and lied to ! We know our dogs aren't as happy and healthy as they can be and there's even guilt associated with that. We're searching. I'm glad I've found your channel. May I add that you're easy to listen to; you're not yelling, you're not ranting or have exaggerated hand movements or distracting music, since I want to hear you clearly. I'm grateful for you. My dog is overweight : ( she's only 3 and a 1/2. Most dog cook books have precious few recipes but filled enough to publish a book full of "never kitchen tested' fluff. Thank you for your help

Keep these type of videos comming.. super informative, eye opener for dog parents. So many people blindly believe kibble is the best thing for their dog. This videos help educate people or at least ask questions and think outside the box about what they are feeding their fur babies.

Ive finally switch my dog's food to raw food diet thanks to your video. my dog wasn't really eating his kibble, it would take him 5 or more hours to finish a scoop of kibble (and i thought he was sick) but when i started feeding him raw food he would always finish it in like 5min. thank you for all your video!

I genuinely love this video idea and it’s formatting! It gave me a lot more insight on pet food overall. I hope there are more “Rachel’s Ranking” videos because (like I said before), I LOVED this video!!! This is one of the endless reasons why this channel is one of my favorites ❤️

I feed my five-month old Australian Shepard/Poodle mix Carna4 and Bones & Co. I also add berries and/or veggies, organic fish oil, Green JuJu treats, and Bones & Co Goat’s Milk. She seems to be doing good on it and she likes it. Thanks for all your help! Learned about Bones & Co and Carna4 from you, Rachel. Thank you!!!

We are currently feeding our puppy Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach (salmon & rice flavor- no corn, wheat, or soy), but hope to transition to a higher quality food once he’s a year old or so. It was just a decision we made based on our budget.

Also, bloat is when the dog’s stomach basically gets flipped from being active after meal times. It’s best to wait 60-90 mins after a meal to have your dog be active.

A good option for kibble is orijen. We only 1.1 carbs. First 10 ingredients are meat. No corn any of those fillers

Being a truck driver I have found it it's definitely very hard to go Raw. So I am very grateful for this video. So far what I have settled upon is K-9 Naturals freeze dried food. I started her on that at eight weeks and she is now 20 weeks old. I have been very impressed with her overall performance all the time. Her mood is great. And you're right about her not eating as much as she would from normal brand kibble. I do hope there's nothing that I have missed. But if there is anything negative that I need to pay attention to about this food I would love your input.

I get my puppy today and you’ve helped me so much over these past weeks. I’ve been watching you for about two years now. Thanks so much for helping me know more about what healthy things I can get my dog so they can live a long, happy life.

Hi, I would really like to know your thoughts on the ongoing fda study of grain free kibble brands causing heart problems in dogs. I have come across a number of vets that speak to the truth of that statement based on their experience. I also know that some vets just don't think there's enough evidence to make that judgment. As a nutritionist, can you please shed some light on this. Thank you 🙏🏼

Orijen, Acana, Stella&Chewy’s, Big Country Raw, Bold Nature and K9 Natural. That’s all I could come up with for brands that I’ve either gave my dog in the past and brands I’m curious to know if they are better. Thank you!!

Orijen lists whole foods and not high heat extruded. I have been using their Orijen large puppy amazing grains (has quinoa like grains no corn/soy) along with their freeze-dried treats or toppers mixed in
