The anime world is pretty crazy.

Not only is card scarcity a thing, but people can literally train themselves to draw cards better. And that’s ignoring the ability to taint/purify cards and mental energy.

GX Yugi put his deck on world tour, and Judai beat that in the hands of a random. But Judai calls DM Yugi unpredictable, one step ahead, and his strongest opponent yet with Yugi giving similar respect to Judai and his deck seeming to respond to his will.

Then we got Atem getting shook by Yugi’s miraculous draws, and then showcases such faith in his cards his will inadvertently affects his next draw and their duel transcends the comprehension of the bystanders that he blatantly knows his next draw. Something the series hints at during Battle City with Seto even after all of Season 1 (where Yugi also tells Joey he didn’t beat Bonz due to luck and has Mai double down on the ideal it wasn’t a fluke she lost to him) and his work to understand the Heart of the Cards which transcended standard calculations.

This isn’t even accounting for how True Duelists went from being implied to acquire archetypal support for plot and has YGO Seven straight up say True Duelists attract new cards to them to power themselves up. Between that and how Duel Spirits, The Crimson Dragon, and Shining Draw operate as well and Yuya/Zarc & Ray straight up creating a new phenomenon in Pendulum Summoning (ignoring Yuzu & Yuma just getting new extra deck monsters that weren’t pre-made) and how Aigami just pulls up with Dimension Summoning. Or how Revolver somehow got new Borrel monsters when Storm Access only gave him (randomly generated) Topologics before…

Pegasus really wasn’t kidding about Duels being soul battles and the power of imagination being the potential of duelists. Lmao.

In the Manga, Yugi stated that he believes a deck is only 15 cards that you will never change. All of the rest of the cards are purely for experimentation.

So it's a small wonder that there will be quite a bit of contradictions with his overall deck.

In fairness, Yugi’s cards are not special one of a kind for the most part. And a company retraining cards people like is not a surprise. Yugi just likes a majority of cards everyone elsecdoes.

If you were tasked to make a functional deck only using cards respective protags owned including anime cards/effects, we all know Playmaker takes it, but Yuma/Astral, Yusei & Yugi/Atem really can go from 0 to 100 outta nowhere.

Meanwhile we hope extra hard not to brick as Judai & Yuya from a purely pragmatic perspective despite how explosive they can be too.

I didn’t include Yuga & Yudias simply because their cards would likely be tweaked if moved to the Master Duel format akin to how YGO Cross Duel gave us flavor text for things like Winged Kuriboh.

In an episode of GX, Yugi's deck (minus the God Cards) is stolen from a museum and Jaden duels the thief (who has gone a little crazy and thinks he's Yugi, and uses Yugi's deck during their duel) to get it back.

If I remember correctly from the manga, Valkhrion, the Magnet Warrior was either a fusion monster or didn't begin in the main deck. Regardless, it's still bad.

6:17 Because of deck thinning and consistency. Running 2 Buster Bladers would mean once you've used one for Dark Paladin, or however you might use him, it's most likely the other one will become a brick. By running emblem, if you draw it, you search Blader from the deck, leaving you to draw better cards afterwards.

You should have reviewed Atem’s deck in the last arc as it continues your main complaints with all his other decks and it is strange to switch to a character whose deck building strat is so completely different
