I bought a 2015 in 2018 with 17k, it now has 101k and has been the most reliable car ive ever owned. I have had the water pump replaced under warranty otherwise nothing major. Change your oil often people buy a cheap car and dont pay to maintain it

So yea after only one day we had a new check engine light before this video was even uploaded. What a piece of crap this car is! 🤦‍♂

I am so glad you made this video. The 2012 Cruze Eco just hit 60k and the plastic water outlet broke, so now I am replacing the whole cooling system. It always smelled of antifreeze at 5k when it was new. The dealer could not find or fix the issue. That hose behind the turbo is a pain. Now because of you, I am going upgraded hose and going to shield the back of the turbo lines. Thank you!!

As a cruze owner trust me every time you fix something another thing will break down the best thing to do is to threw this thing to a scrap yard.

My son has Cruz, ended up replacing a lot of parts, . Oil seals on turbo tube, . Top of engine seal. Many of the new parts had been upgraded. Means Cruze is trying to keep up and realized they had a problem

Bought a 2012 turbo new, and bought a 2014 used later. Now both at about 107k miles. It is a DIY only car. If it had to go to the shop every time, BIG BUCKS! You forgot the plastic coolant outlet pipe. other then that you've done it all.

12 has the original turbo, 14 was done warranty at 55k miles. Do the intake fix kit on the forum for the PCV, test for boost leaks, etc. and it's a good car.

I just bought two Cruze's. A '15 and a '16. I'm glad I ran across this channel so I know what to look out for. I appreciate the time you put into making this video!

My 2013 Cruze was a great car for 8 years. In the last year, it has been costing thousands to fix. Now it's the turbo that blew and caused massive oil and coolant leaks. I put about $8, 000 in it in the last year. I should have gotten rid of it before the turbo blew. Now I feel like I need to fix it so I can go shopping for a new car. I can't get anything for it as it is.

I had a 2011 Cruze, worst factory transmission programming I had ever experienced. I had to have a professional tuner re-tune it just to make it drivable.

Welcome to chevy shit box 101. I work on these cars all the time. NEVER...REPEAT NEVER....BUY A GM 1.4L

They aren't that unreliable after you replace everything. 😆

On the bright side, they are fairly easy to work on for a modern car. 😀

2018 Cruze, 76000 miles on the clock. Apart from a set of tires and oil changes, 0 issues. Gen 2 seems to be very solid. I do agree with you about turbos.

Great video! Very informative!! Unfortunately, my wife has a 2014 Cruze with only 107K miles and it's on it's 2nd Valve cover and I'm replacing the Intake Manifold this weekend because it's still having PVC issues. Best believe we're getting rid of this turd asap before I have to deal with a to-do-list as long as yours!!! Keep up the great content!!

Nice vid! I’m a brokee and I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.4 turbo, I need to find that Cruze community to help me fix the small issues it has now it’s not many visible ones beside dirty engine.

I just got a 2014 6spd manual stick shift, thanks for posting this video. It really will help me when fixing it up.

Worst car I’ve owned, a lot of problems, I bought it new and had to sell it with only 40, 000 miles in 6 years, now I have an old Japanese brand car and everything work fine, I just missed the smooth ride and cool design

My partner and I both loved Chevrolet. He had always wanted a red Chevrolet Cruze RS, I was at the time driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt LT. From 50K miles to 90k the car wasn’t to bad! Good on gas and was decently comfortable. Then at 97k I started loosing coolant, but wasn’t leaking it. After replacing the head gasket, water pump, timing chain tensioner (they had timing chain issues and mine was rattling ) after all that it still lost coolant. I decided to trade it off for a 2009 Corolla! Have owned nothing but Toyotas ever sense. My partner after his dream of a Cruze was dashed by my awful experience with my car he started buying Subarus! My family owned tons of GM cars through the years but I was absolutely not buying another car from GM!

That's why I always fully research engines and models before I buy any vehicle. You're not just buying a car, you're buying a reliable investment.

I own a cruze as well, and you are spot-on with your assessment...complete POS. GM should be embarrassed to employ engineers who design something like that.
