Looking at the the fire from this angle, its hard to imagine its also now up along hiway 32 north of Forest Ranch, and it was at the edge of Tehama Wildlife preserve early this AM.

National Guard flew some trapped people out of Cohasset. And SPI unlocked the gates above Cohasset and provided guides for 80 car loads of people to get out to hiway 32 over a very rocky rough dusty road late last night. The road to the SPI gate is a destroyed mess the county has abandoned, even though it was the only other way out of town.

Saving money on maintenance no doubt.

I remember the Oakland Hills fire in 1991. It felt controllable until the fire crossed Highway 24 - after that it was just watching and waiting.
