Objectivism was not "further developed" by Ayn Rand, she invented the ENTIRE thing.

A priori presupposition: 1- there is no greater moral goal than achieving happiness

2-One must live with moral integrity and respecting the rights of others

3- Ayn considered regularly committing adultery to be fulfilling the 2nd rule above!

What can be concluded from this brief treatise about Ayn’s commitment to living her own philosophy?

In what sense is her morality outside of subjects (I.e. objective), how does she know?

We never seem to get
Answers that other epistemologies offer in the first two paragraphs.

My experience of reading Rand is not unlike reading l Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics.

Perhaps a better title for her philosophy would be, “Justifying Narcissism!”

Ayn Rand took 19th century objectivism and twisted it into something unrecognizable when compared to the original. Unfortunately, the two concepts share the same name.

I like how it went from human emotions are meaningless and facts rule, to happiness is the goal. WTH?

Ok so if the goal/moral is to make yourself happy, then hurting others for your benefit is moral for you and immoral for them. But wait I thought there was only one objective truth? So how can something be moral and immoral?

Internal contradictions much? And I thought Ayn Rand was a pro-Nazi Jew? I MIGHT be wrong on that, though, so please don't take my word for it. If she was, though, she wasn't even a proponent of her own philosophy, because, if human happiness is the maximal goal, the Nazis brought a lot of misery to a lot of different people groups. Which begs the question: WHOSE happiness? WHICH people?

What is the difference between realism and objectivism?

The very foundation of Objectivism is nothing more than the shifting sands of a meaningless tautology; Existence exists.

This is not objectively accurate. Our sense data indicates our collective consciousness is destroying our climate and depleting the objective planet. Individual happiness is not attainable with selfish morality. The objective morality that is superior to individual happiness is individual fairness. Everyone must be fair to everyone. You must be fair to me. I must be fair to you. Disregarding this corrected Objectivism has negative consequences and results in personal unhappiness. Objectively we are concerned about truth and happiness of everyone. This is a more accurate Objectivism. This is the Objectivism I teach.
