I remember that fire. It made me pray for them. It is so sad to see these beautiful artifacts that reflect our histories to be destroyed. 😢🙏😢

Watch the documentary about the restoration. It’s fascinating. That chapel redo was so gorgeous. And redoing the vaulted ceiling in the Great Room, Red Room? Well the Queen paid for it, so there was no expense spared. The craftsmen were so talented.

I watched this live, it was horrible. Can't imagine what the Queen was feeling.

I really like your channel! I love history and you always come up with fascinating, important stories. Most people never learn anything in school, because it's too regimented and distracting. This channel really helps make history fun! Thank you!!
I'd love to know more about the queens staff, now that she is gone, what happens to them? Retire? Write a tell all? Tactfully live quietly in a Grace AND favor cottage? Do they still gift cottages like they used to?

Idlove to see what those things were insured for? Rumors they were cash poor around dthat time doesn't make one wonder about this fire? Maybe all this stuff was removed before he fire? Loli me I feel that stuff was probably was priceless and would bankrupt a insurance company.

I wondered if it was deliberately started by Diana or Sarah during their mutually horibilus marriages

I'm sorry but does London have homeless people like the USA? If so, knowing the have over a thousand empty bedrooms just sitting would chap my rear.

Now it sounds, to be cost effective, to swap out all lights to: led "light emitting diod" the new, modern type lights. No more old fashioned, "hot" lights! Much better lighting. They are clean, cheaper in long run, 50% the electric = 50% the electric bill. I bet the public notices all the old fashioned lights get changed to the led, ie; light emitting diod, lights. Old lighting has a yellow hue, the led lights are a bright white light. Some lighting company will get a fat $ contract, after that it's savings, and safety all around, letting modern, (led) light shine on everything.
