Thanks for your videos. They really help people like me learn more about this complicated mess. Just last week I talked with a VA dr for the first time, for PTSD "interview" or whatever. She asked a series of substance abuse questions, but in the middle phrased one like this, "how old were you when you first used (whatever drug)?". I said "excuse me?" And she repeated the question the same way. I answered that I had never used drugs other than prescribed and don't know why she would ask like that. After the video-call I felt worse than I had before. This is why we don't ask for help, because she made me feel like I must be some kind of drug addict or alcoholic, I couldn't just have PTSD. I have been rated at 90% for about 20 yrs (I retired about that long ago) and I get a call this morning from the VA saying I'm scheduled for a Mental health Eval next month. Don't really know where that came from! My 90% is for multiple things and if I remember right I was rated at 30% back in 2002 for PTSD. When I retired I had claimed the horrendous Migraines I get but the VA denied me even though my ACTIVE DUTY medical records clearly showed the severity and occasions for ER treatment. And I was active duty for 24 years. I got a call about those yesterday! over 40 yrs I've been dealing with this!

That is the type of questions i was asked in 2011 when I applied for ptsd, generalized anxiety, major depression. I answered the questions and then said I don't understand what this test has to do with why I applied.. I never said i was intellectually disabled. Maybe I should have let my frustration show.

I came here because when I go to a the psychiatrist I’m really nervous that they will say I’ve got symptoms, most importantly I go in and talk about my life work and social life, but after all that they say how is your mental health and I’m stumped because I don’t know how what to say, I get angry because I feel like saying something like if I had problems I would of told you by now, I feel like they think I’m lying, I’ve even been told that they have to ask that question even though it is basically saying you have something to hide and I want to know about it

i just had my c&p exam two hrs ago. i was not nervous. i guess i was just me. i talked like i talk to any body. i answered all the questions and it dint take more than 30 min. every thing she asked me made sense to me. i made sure to tell her before the end that i dont have minor or mild symptoms. i said i have severe symptons. not gonna make a difference probably but worth the try. how long from now will it take to get a decision.? Fast forward to jan 2021. I was awarded 70% ptsd.

I had my c and p exam in a closet of the podiatry clinic. He looked at me 3 terminated the exam. I ended up being approved for 100 percent disability. Not all exams are tricks. Just saying.

I had one C & P shrink that yelled at me when I described to her my symptons .

VES c&p Dr made me answer 300+ questions, many just worded differently. They try to get you there too.

I just had my c and p for ptsd, and i felt like shit after it. She interrupted me a million times and said she thinks im just anxious not ptsd. Made me feel like a liar

That should be illegal. Any doctor who does that should be held accountable for malpractice!

I am going in for my TBI at the QTC tomorrow. The doctors for headaches and PTSD both said they were recommending me for benefits. I hope I don’t get a bad Dr.
