as a woman with asthma this just makes me extra grateful for how careful male doctors I've seen have been about this (they often need to do that same stethoscope test but it's never ever been this creepy). The only weird thing that happened to me once was when I was 16 (and I look quite young, like often 4-6 years younger than my age) I had to have an x-ray on my wrist. the female tech asked if there was any chance I could be pregnant- as she had to- and I said no, and her response was "good girl." it really weirded me out... but if it had come from a male tech it would have been 1000X more creepy.

Why are these videos unlisted? I shouldn't have to chase a link to see this, it should be public! Everyone needs to see this. Thanks.

This exact thing happened to me, I was 19 and I went to the doctor with swollen glands in my neck. He asked me to remove my shirt and tried to put his hand down my bra. I wouldn't let him and he said "you're fighting me on this" I said yes because I'm not comfortable. He stormed off to his desk and told me to get a blood test. I felt uncomfortable but thought it was all in my head. Several years later o saw him on the front cover of our local newspaper being accused of doing it to minors. I went to the police to help their cause but as I wasn't a minor my statement couldn't be used. He got off with a slap on the wrist and a 9 month paid suspension. It sickens me that he's back working again and those girls are painted as liars.

The number of people defending sexual harassment in the comments shows why these videos are so necessary.

I would like to point out a few things he did before the obvious which he shouldn't have done:
1:20 he puts his hands on the patient's legs and leaves one of them there for several seconds
2:17 he rests his hand which isn't holding the stethoscope on the patient's belly while she breaths
There are a few other things that I noticed which, since I'm not a doctor, I'm not sure whether they're normal or not, but these two I am sure about

The breast exam part...my doctor asked me "are you comfortable with me doing a breast exam?" I said no. And then nothing happened. That's how it should be. This video is extremely important.

When I was 20-22 I lived in Toronto and saw a Dr. for allergies. Brutal allergies my sinuses felt like they were going to explode. I was told to change into a gown so I did. The Dr then asked me some questions and apparently to "hear my lungs properly" with the stethoscope he had to remove my gown. I felt so uncomfortable, my heart was beating so fast. I felt so exposed. I was left bare on top with him doing this examination. It has stuck with me for almost a decade. I know it was wrong what he did. After watching this I have decided to call health records at that hospital and find out what his name was and report him.

I've had a similar incident happen to me as well, just recently in fact. My suggestion for other women out there is to speak up to the perp standing before you. I threatened him with 'repercussions' if I decided to tell my acquaintances in law enforcement what he had just done to me. Hope that left him shaking in his boots. If it were to go further, it would be his word against mine and he can't prove anything. I ended the interaction and walked out of the room - trust me, he knew I meant business.

Imagine the actor playing the doctor calling home to tell his mother he finally landed a part 🤣

These videos are hard to watch but it's a good thing. Many of us, men in particular, know these things happen, but the fact that it's almost never portrayed in medias makes it very unreal to us, as if it was uncommon or exceptionnal in both form and frequency; and so the victims around us feels even the less confortable to break the silence and request help or support. This is terrible because it is preventing us to react adequatly to it, as we would for any other immediate threat to the very lives of our neighbors, friends and family. And so I'm glad I felt unconfortable for a few minutes, because now I'll be aware for the rest of my life.

I don't know about elsewhere, but in India at least, a male doctor can not examine a female patient in the absence of a female attendant/doctor/nurse. well, if not, the doctor can invite litigation.

These are an incredible public service. Every parent of a teenage/young adult should sit and watch every one of these with their child. And process what they see.

When doctors behave inappropriately with patients, it can be hard to tell exactly what they did wrong. Unless you speak to another physician and they say "that's not how you check for sinusitis!"

I'm sorry, but a lot of these seem more along the lines of assault than harassment?

The tailor who stitched my school uniform for many years would always be handsy around the crotch area. Didn't realize what it was till I saw an episode of the same thing happening to Joey on Friends .

Uh, some of these are sexual assault, not harassment.

Doctors can hear your heart and lungs through your shirt. I've never needed to unbutton my shirt

Wait this is harassment! Once a doctor did this exact same procedure on me and I felt so violated I could not sleep for weeks after the visit. I never went back to the same doctor again but I thought this was regular procedure and I have been blaming myself.

There is only one rule. "Never try to judge a doctor's instincts or intentions". Our symptoms and related medical knowledge may make us think that some kinda examinations or investigations while okay while some are not. The doctor's knowledge can be a lot more than us. A practical solution is to have a female assistant or attender nearby while a male doctor performs an examination. And the most important thing is to explain the patient the need of anything you(the doctor) wants to perform for the benefit of the patient.
