Admittedly, Paul was the slickest instrument player of the Beatles - and a good songwriter as well - but John was AT LEAST his equal in songwriting. Then, at the end of the the Beatles saga, George finally had a chance to shine a bit, and finally bloom as a fantastic songwriter. Ringo was only the timekeeper (his own words) but his legacy is unparalleled. His drumming was simple (no ornamentation) but he had an unique knack of complementing every Beatles song in a way that everyone recognizes today, 60 years after the fact.

There's a run of three songs- While my guitar gently weeps, Happiness is a warm gun and Martha my dear .. all three songwiters . total bliss !

Still one of my all time favorite albums. I heard John wanted to sing "Oh Darling". I always loved Paul's voice on that, but I'd love to hear John give it a whirl. He had such a great Rocknroll voice.

John actually has said that it is one of his favorite albums as some of his best work (according to him) was on it, but he did mention that it wasn’t like they were in the band. He saw it more like “John and the band” or “George and the band”. He saw it as solo works with the others just playing on the tracks
