- If you don't like a skill I recommended, don't use it. Again, I'm not telling you that you HAVE TO PLAY HOW I PLAY, I'm simply recommending good skills for each weapon.
Play how you like, use what you like, just use this as a guide if you feel like you're missing something or unsure of what extra skills to add! It's not a personal attack if I use a skill that you don't.
- Use Slinger capacity on Gun Lance, it's great for Wyrm Stake Blast
- For IG, be sure to have Airborne, +30% damage on all aerial attacks
- For GL, especially long GL, focus 3 is good for faster shooting
- Nice Quality of Life skills to use with combination decorations include: evade window, divine blessing, health boost, recovery up, recovery speed, etc.

Also side note (for lance): guard up is hella circumstantial but is good to have on hand when needed.

Evade is also dependent upon your build. I don’t use it and I don’t really notice a negative impact without it.

WExploit for sure, Offguard, and I like to slot into attack boost because I’m a pariah who wants to boost my offguard as high as possible. Don’t need crits if every hit hurts by default, I figure.

Agitator and resentment together has been a good time. Neither are maxed out but I don’t think about it too much. One or the other is always up, or together at the same time and then they’re usually boosting my offensive guard so idk what that translates to mathematically but it’s satisfying seeing stacks on stacks on stacks of buffs.

Another tip for the charge blade why focus is important
not only it lessen the hits for phial charges (as mentioned in the video) but also speeds up the charge for charged double slash.

Great video. Only thing i can leave is don’t run Wide Range 5 on HH lol. The support aspect of HH is the songs. Attack Up, Element Attack Up, Stamin Use Reduce, etc are all more beneficial to you and your team than sheathing your weapon to pop a heal every time someone loses health. Don’t fall into the “support” weapon mindset. If you want to go in and support run SnS and Mushroomancer.

Insect Glaive addition:
-Flinch Free lvl3 + Earplugs lvl 2 gives Earplugs lvl 5 with triple buff.
-Airborne is 30% extra damage in the air
-Evade Extender and Evade Window are nice to have and work for aerial dodges aswell.

Kinsect Damage is not affected by any skills, other than Part Breaker.

If you want to kill for example Fatalis or Alatreon only using your Kinsect,
slot in Partbreaker, Slinger Capacity (For more Kinsect Power Ups) and all the comfort skills you want.
Especially Flinch Free and Earplugs comes in handy, since you can run around uninterrupted.
For Fatalis use a dragon element Kinsect and for Alatreon it's really easy to reach the elemental threshhold, if you use the right element.

Very well made video, especially like the detailed mentions of some weapons which stand out for specific uses like alatreon cb. Slightly detailed version of this might be a good follow up video for new players ( augments, safi weapon upgrades etc)

Just a fyi for the charge blade
Having the shield powered up gives you 1 level of guard and blocking with a guard point gives you another one for that attack so at most you only need guard lv 3 in your skills since you want to have your shield charged at all times

For chargeblades, I honestly think power prolonger can be better than focus.

Yeah, you can get your phials faster with focus, you speed up double slash and the sword boosting attack, but the difference to charge is one hit most of the time or two (weak) hit at best. I am not saying it's nothing, focus 3 allows you a very quick combo to charge your phial, that won't fully charge your phial at focus level 2 or below (forward slash + charged double slash and spinning slash)
Power prolonger makes your shield buff go from 3 minutes to about 4 minutes minutes and 12 seconds, and phials for impact charge blade in savage axe go from 12 to 17 seconds (which can be great when monsters don't leave you as many openings to unga bunga).
So in my opinion, you waste a bit of time charging up each time, but not needing to spend phials on your shield as often make it worth while.

I am not complaining "yeah, your skills are bad", as you said in the pin comment these are recommandation. I just think there is an argument to be made ^^

I personally wouldn't recomand Evade Extender on Lance. Lance already has great mobility without it and using it can make positioning during combos awkward since often you only want to have an option that only covers small distances which you lose with that skill while already being able to cover longer distances with the long backhop or the guard dash.

I did not know ZSD for switch axe gives you 4 levels of earplugs. I been running earplugs lvl 5 on my new build but looks like I just free’d up a lot of space in my decoration slots. Thanks for the help!

For anyone who wants to try the lance, you don't need evade extender.
Guard 5 and Guard Up are definitely comfy.
Offensive Guard gives insane damage boost that you can keep activating throughout the hunt.

Focus is just that good for Charge Blade that i wouldn't go without it and same goes for Phial Capacity, specially for SAED/Savage Axe Spammers. You don't really need it for GS since u can still land a full charged attack in the right moments which is usually after a wall slam or knockdown. People usually favor a crapton of dmg boost per hit instead so make each hit count because it's a very slow weapon. This makes a lot of difference like for instance when u can easily knockdown a Rajang which is one of the most annoying Monsters with just 1 GS Hit. So if u crit a lot and hit REALLY HARD per hit nothing else will mater. They need at best Jumping 3 or Guard Up for Emergencies when it comes to Defensive Skills. Guard Up is cheaper because its only 1 Slot. If you wear FULL FATALIS SET with FATALIS GS u can SLOT a CRAPTON of DMG SKILLS and still get free Max Health Boost, Stun Resist and Stamina. It's really Broken.

Something else for Gunlance, using slinger capacity is basically power prolonger for your wyvern stake.

Additionally do not use artillery secret on charge blade, if at all. Unlike Gunlance where your shells aren't influenced by anything except artillery, phials are influenced by attack boosts. Meaning true raw stacking with agitator and attack boost is just as useful and helps with the rest of the weapon.

As a final note, I wouldn't leave out defensives like elemental resists and stun resist. Ignoring blights at resist 20 is huge, and stun resistance effectively makes combo locking impossible.

For stam management bow/DB - 1 con, dash juice and blackbelt gets you to 47 no? That is what I mainly run on DB at least - remember an old Excel sheet mentioning this years ago..

2:40 Wait, I thought agitator, peak performance and latent power occupt the same attack buff 'band' and cannot activate simultaneously. That's how I saw it explained in previous titles, is it not the case in world?
