They waited for 2024 to finally realize that the old GTK filepicker was a problem, but when it was me complaining on reddit or in comments on YouTube I was the crazy one, now take advantage of the fact that it seems like they are fearing cosmic and implement video as wallpaper natively in gnome.

I think the bottom bar (to save and rename) should look exactly like it would have been if it was at the top.

The circular pill button and the extreme paddings aren't doing it any favor, and they stand out so much as a big departure from the usual GNOME design.
Just using the more familiar design at the bottom is gonna be great.

I hope accent colours and light/dark modes as a cross desktop standard are actually respected in the future.

The lame part is that the old file chooser will get fully neglected and gtk apps that use the gtk file chooser in other desktops or os will be stuck with things like not being able to click the path bar to turn it into a typeable url bar

The modality is not based on whether it's a gnome app or not, it's based on whether the calling app passed modal==true when calling the portal.

Still waiting for a side panel to preview files I put my cursor on tbh... This feature has been in KDE for ages... Still nothing like it for GNOME...

Hi, I have offtop question. I am using multiple locales, two of them cyrillic. And I often face issue with Vim or other hotkeys when I switched to one of cyrillic languages. I haven't used Windows probably for a year, but as far as I remember there hotkeys work regardless of chosen locale. It is lack of some API in Linux kernel, or it is responsibility of apps developers?

Oh thank god (or better the devs) for this! The gtk file saver sadly has really attrocious UX. For me it has always been the worst feature of any gtk desktop.

"Files". Why does GNOME insist on using generic app names and not even mention the true app name in the Help->About box of each app? It makes it very hard to search for solutions to problems for these apps.
