.NET framework 4 stuck forever, not installing (FIXED Error)

While installing .NET framework 4 we may encounter
file security verification bar full but installation bar
empty forever

it may struck forever some times....

solution is given below

1. go to services

2. go to windows installer

3. double click on it

4. in the general tab, under startup type drop down menu
replace manual with automatic (delayed start)

5. click ok

restart your .net 4 application again which works succesfully

Thanks! I had a feeling I shouldn't have to wait that long for client profile creation. I applied this fix even during the profile setup and eventually got to the installation is complete screen! Works like a charm. Windows installer was in Manual and grayed out - I left that as is and just clicked Start button below it. Also did the step mentioned by JS in the comments below. "Services/ App Layer Gateway Service(double click on it)/ there we go! =>General tab ->Startup type switch Manual to Automatic(Delayed Installer " and BAAM!. it completed the .net installation.

My startup type was also grey but the Start button was normal so I clicked on it and it worked, thanks! I've been trying to install Framework 3.5 for hours

Once I started the Windows Installer service (which was set to Manual start), my .NET 4.8 installation resumed after a few seconds. Nice!

For me the option to change the startup type was also greyed out, but I manually started it, waited a couple of minutes and then install commenced. Thanks :)

I just pressed Start as it said the service was stopped since the option to change from manual to automatic was greyed out ! I waited for 2 mins and it worked.

thank you so so so soooo much i did what you did and it still stuck then restart my pc and run dotnet4 again it works
