Environment Matters - Innovative Project Reduces Stormwater Runoff

Work will begin soon on a three phase catch basin project at Coalfield Development Corporation's WestEdge facility in Huntington. It's estimated that the building's roofs shed around 40-thousand gallons of water during a one-inch rain event. The project will dramatically reduce that by capturing, storing, and then slowly releasing the water into the surrounding subsoil and keeping it out of the city's storm sewers.
