I live in Florida and yes, Nile crocodiles have been found in Florida. These things grow to enormous proportions. I saw one Uganda that was well over twenty feet long. It slipped off the bank and went right under the 14 foot boat I was in. It will be terrifying to see one swimming under my kayak.

No one let things go to the extent Joe is saying. Hurricane Andrew took a different path than expected and busted up a lot of sanctuaries like the zoos and laboratories and personal collections as well. Hurricane Andrew destroyed southern Florida when it hit and went right across the state as a category 4-5 none stop just like Katrina did to Louisiana.

The problem started from Hurricane Andrew, not people releasing pets. Sure, it may happen but the problem started from the hurricane flattening a facility full of constrictors.

It's not so much the people that let them go, but all the floods that happened and they escaped

We have seen a increase in large snakes, iguanas, and even a lone tapir. Quaker birds seem kinda evasive too. I kinda feed them, and they show up in numbers, like seagulls. Cover you like bées. First one lands on my head, and the rest show up shortly.

Florida native here. The Everglades are such a small part of Florida the majority of Floridians probably have never seen it. It's a damn shame what happened there but that place and the climate are ideal for any reptile. We just have to accept it for what it is. Gotta try to get rid of those nile Crocs while we can tho. That's a no bueno

The Nile crocodiles got out from a research center during hurricane andrew. Now why were nile crocodiles imported to florida in the first place? That's a good question..

Lion fish in Florida waters as well. Fortunately, with no nature predators there, the barracuda can be trained in the wild to understand the Lion fish as a food source.
People are also starting to find the methods needed to harvest them, but they are running out of control.

So many videos of Florida exotic fish caught in spill ways and sewers. It’s like the Amazon there.

Sounds like a business opportunity for someone who wants to start a snake trade.
