Planes, Trains and Automobiles made me laugh the way Steve described…when he was cursing out Edie McClurg, I curled up into a ball and couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard.

This interview in 2016 got me to listen to Steve Martin’s audiobook. Amazing career. His standup career was short but he absolutely killed it. Reached the top and decided he wanted to do something else.

I love the philosophical perspective he brought to comedy. Pure artistry.

I went to see Steve Martin play the banjo and sing some songs with his band. It was one of the finest shows I ever went to. He's hilarious and talented.

Steve Martin is the jazz of stand up comedy. His Letterman sketches had me dying of laughter

"It wasn't a revelation, it was a theory." That's pretty damn deep.

Steve could bomb and be hysterical doing it. His facial expressions broke me up. Planes Trains & Automobiles is a comedy masterpiece that I watch every year around Thanksgiving.

I saw him at The Boarding House on Bush Street in SF, mid-70's. Geez, almost 50 years ago. He was hilarious that night as he was just getting out there. .

This guy did Planes Trains and Automobiles with the Late great John Candy, and John Hughes at the directing helm. Arguably one of the best films of the 80s. If he did nothing else in his career that would have been a huge achievement anyway.

My favorite story from his book is when he’s talking about performing in some coffee shop after these two musicians named Buckingham and Nicks.

That's great, that's the best (part of an) interview I've ever heard of Steve Martin.
