"Genius" is a word used too often, but in this case, @stevemartin is one...bless him

Robin Williams was the master at this. The way he blew though the best punchlines had me literally crying on multiple occasions.

This man is brilliant. Such an icon by being himself. We could all learn so much from him.

The GOAT of all-around comedic ability.

Indicating laughs is such a great description of what awkward laughs are.

I saw Martin and Short a few years back, and I can barely remember the show because I don't think I stopped laughing for the entire time.

The greatest stand up in history right here.

You ever watch this guy do stand up in the 1970’s. There’s nothing like it. There’s only a handful of comedians that make me laugh so hard. Jim Carrey, Jim Gaffigan, Steve Martin, and Dave Chappelle. We all have our favorites, these are mine.

This man is so intelligent! Every thing he does is great! I just read An Object of Beauty! It was a joy to read!!

I love when a comedian does this but it hurts so much because it’s laugh after laugh and my abs are flexing and my eyes are tearing up. It’s intense

Simply no traditional slap stick joke telling, eg "my dog won't eat meat" why? I don't feed him any". Plus, ya got to love ❤️this fellow, Steve Martin knows his style like no other.😎😏

I’m watching his old movies and they slap especially the one with Michael Caine and also Lonely Guy

Robin would throw away his throwaway lines, but you would watch the throwaway lines fall into the seas, turn around and Robin would be there waiting, to throw more lines away. ☺️☺️☺️🤙

When I was on my high school dance team (very long ago) I won a dance competition doing a dance to “King Tut”. I think I still have the trophy somewhere!

Read his book "Born Standing Up". He is a sharp guy, has made good choices in his life, and is always thinking outside the box. Very impressive for a celebrity.

I've found I do this in real life and after the encounter I'll play catch-up to myself realizing they laughed so much and even thinking how they don't laugh at that joke itself they are laughing at my delivery.

Gracho and the Marx brothers employed this technique superbly. They dished out so many rapid fire quips that you relish every moment of their dialogue.

He’s right, but for some comedians this wouldn’t work because they deliberately pause and look off to the side as if bored! If they’re jokes are funny, then it’s funny, but he’s right about in general keep the show moving! Lots of animation!
