Two Things:
1) Technically it’s not a true dairy product since no refrigeration it’s needed..
2) There has been a number of people going to WAR on Anything The requires a process to make.. But most of them just jump to the conclusion that if it is natural it’s bad..
Snake venom is natural.. There’s poisonous mushrooms that are natural.. but you don’t see me going out of my way to eat Em..
Technology has come a long way.. And our lifespan as human has gone up despite our imperfections as a species..
So if I can enjoy that life while having a convenient way to get my protein in that taste good and help me build muscle.. Then why not? Lol
(You can tell I had an argument like this recently so I might edit this later😂)

The problem with eating an excess amount of whey protein is that it doesn’t contain the nutrients that a steak or a glass of milk will provide you. So little extra protein from a powder source is ok but try to consume majority of your protein as Whole Foods

A byproduct of making yogurt or cottage cheese is whey and can be used to make sourdough bread, add to overnight oatmeal or so many other things that you would use water for. It is amazing how easy it is to make whey in cooking to see where the isolate comes from.

many people make the mistake of replacing it with food which is unsustainable.

It’s a post workout supplement. I drink it after every gym sesh to ensure proper recovery and eat a healthy meal to go along with it if I did my workout on a fasted state. Also it’s great for breaking fasts especially when combined with an electrolyte supplement.

As long as you understand that nutrition isn’t just macros but mostly micronutrients I don’t see the problem in having a protein yogurt bowl or a shake as long as it doesn’t have harmful additives that disturb gut health and cause other problems to your body

Some people consume whey protein to meet dietary protein threshold that would otherwise go unmet. There is also good in protein source variation.

The only issue With whey protean replacing actual food as protein is it’s un filling I rather have a nutrition dense food that fills me and sustains my calorie deficit for a little more calories then a protean shake that will satisfy my protean goal but not my stomach.

It’s missing the needed fats/cholesterol Lucian and other amino acids, has no micronutrients or vitamins. These are the things that rly matter more then if you got 80g of protein or 100g that day. You should always pick the real meal unless your at like 30 - 45 g of protein where as you probably need the protein the most. There’s many other things your body needs for muscle and strength adaptations other then protein and protein is normally in a surplus in athletic people.

I've noticed that a protein shake added to my breakfast really helps me not feel hunger until at least 5 hours after. Maybe it's a placebo playing tricks on me, but hey, it's helping me lose excess fat

Traditionally ricotta cheese was made from whey protein. These days it's mostly casein like other cheese, but that's a new development.
