Whenever I do drawing, i did a genga style (keyframe) sketch first, all the shading marked with colored lines. It's time consuming, but somehow it's also give benefit to do lines less stressful (at least for me) and the colors are fixed. At least that's how I did my artworks, because I usually draw characters in cell shaded like anime. But, this video is insightful because i got trouble doing anime style painting like this one :3

Dang every YouTuber I seen is going to Japan. I want to go there for the art and improve on my drawing skills.

I hope you do tutorials on doing background in anime style too and how to change the mood and lighting of the same scene! The way you teach is so so helpful and concise honestly the only channel I go back to every time thank you!!

Never thought to use an under glow for the highlights. That's genius 🙌 thank you marc

Thanks, Marc! I followed you for awhile, seem your clips improve better and better, "no gatekeep" than before (in previous clips, long ago, they tend to too fast, hidden some techniques without clear explain, such as gradient map). For this clip, I can point out these interesting things: clear process (layers, how to use, order of them, etc..), average pacing (no more sudden cut or quick settings (especially the "outer glow" part), and the sum up at the end of the clip to remind "do you remember what you're just watched" (not many tutorials clips do this).
Keep up the good work, bro!

Oo, that's how I color stuff! I didn't know about darkening hair under the highlights, I'll try that next time. Tip! I also like to add a bit of light on the sideburns for extra shiny-ness!

Thanks for the class, Mr. Marc, here's your like and your algorith-pleasing comment!

Awesome video Marc! Succinct and yet jam packed with info. Thank you for also including the logic behind the coloring method (via anisotropic surface material; new vocab word lol!).

Awesome! Brilliant video, I'm proud that I figured out some of this from your previous work but the steps where you add a darker colour behind the anisotropic light and the soft gradient look beautiful and really make it pop!
