Welcome back to Boxing After Dark! Danny Lopez has been making waves in the featherweight division, knocking out every opponent who dares to challenge him. But tonight, standing in his path is a young, hungry fighter from Mexico, 21-year-old Salvador Sanchez. Though he has few wins under his belt and a modest fan base, Sanchez is determined to prove he's a force to be reckoned with.

Danny Lopez was actually a pall bearer at Sanchez funeral. Incredible class and respect these two greats had.

I’m Puertorrican and I watched his fight with our Wilfredo Gomez but that day I also watched greatness. I’m a boxing aficionado and is to sad we lost one of the biggest fighters ever. Salvador Sanchez always stood in my heart as one of the best fighter Mexico have ever produced.

Sal is well known and highly respected here in Puerto Rico, and will forever be regarded as one of Mexico's best fighters ever. R.I.P. Sal

He beat 5 hall of famers before he turned 23. And he knocked everyone of them.

No pushing
No holding
No shoulder
No Elbow
No back of the head shots

Pure slugfest. Pure class. 💪👌✊

Lucky were those who witnessed this incredible brawl live in arena. 😊

These two fights remind me the dual between Vernon Forest & Sugar Shane Mosley. Vernon was quite unkonwn while Mosley was the belt holder. He provided that golden opportunity to Vernon but sadly lost the belt.

Vernon gave Mosley a chance to vengeance but Mosley again lost. I still pity it.

RIP Sanchez. Love from Pakistan ❤

One of the greatest ever. Greatest featherweight ever. Shame he passed on too early.

Loved Salvador Sanchez. Too bad he died so young. What a warrior Little Red Lopez is. What a chin. Still find it hard to believe he was never knocked down in either fight. He took some vicious shots.

Both Sanchez and Lopez were absolute warriors. What sticks out to me with Salvador is his ridiculous gas tank and accuracy. His punches sound equally as devastating as the end of the fight as in the beginning.

Amazing sports story. Was never big into boxing, so I missed the career of Sanchez. This video really highlights how good he was. Tragic that he died so young.
