Lea Salonga Sings Defying Gravity at the Sydney Opera House

Known across the world for her powerful voice and perfect pitch, Lea Salonga is best known for originating the role of Kim in Miss Saigon on the West End and Broadway. She went on to play Eponine and Fantine in Les Misérables and was the original singing voice of two Disney Princesses – Aladdin’s Princess Jasmine and the title role in Mulan, for which she has been bestowed with the title of “Disney Legend” by the Walt Disney Company. I saw her in Glasgow and I have to say I loved her singing from start to finish, and her audience interaction is amazing. She would share stories with us and it really felt we were knowing her as a person and not just a singer. I've loved her since the 10th anniversary show of Les Misérables and have enjoyed the singing she did for Mulan and Aladdin. Incredible singer and an incredible woman.

She sang the song with so much heart, class and did not exaggerated and did not oversing it, she sang the song as if she is the character that the song portrays, she becomes the song and only few artists can do it. I’ve been her fan since I was young. I first saw her on TV as an actress but later I learned that she went abroad to do Ms Saigon. It always amazes me whenever I see and listen to her sing. I hope that someday I could get to see her in person. 🌺
