I believe both the Blue Point and Channel-lock wrenches are both rebranded Bahco. Personally I'd be a little more pissed if I, #1 couldn't find the warranty submission and #2 received a Chinese wrench to replace my made in Spain version. Gearwrench for the win, IMHO...

does gear wrench require the old one back

I had a similar experience with Apex. I thought they were refusing to warranty some pliers since I heard nothing and then a replacement showed up.

back in the first week of November I tried the warranty claim for a couple GW 90tooth ratchet repair kit(1/4" and 3/8") as well as a socket and socket adapter. Their first reply was that it was two week lead time. 3 weeks had passed and I emailed them for a follow up/update. GW responded that the the replacement parts were on backorder until the last week of January.

We tried getting a broken Gearwrench socket warrantied and was told proof of purchase aka receipt needed, this was through an auto parts store that sells Gearwrench.Came in a set my dad bought from the same auto parts store

Wow $86 for a harbor freight wrench, no wonder they get compared sometimes.

channel-lock crescent wrenches are also made in Spain. I really like the small 6 inch one. Its really thin and has tight tolerances.

Hi Bryan,
Happy New Year! Gearwrench was backorded for what I needed replaced . I warrantied my ratcheting wrench a few months ago, and they told me I probably won't get it until February. I'm glad yours didn't take too long

A low res image is easy though, you just take the picture, then take a screen shot of the picture and it'll be a few kilobytes 🎉

Hey Bryan iv had good luck with Proto and Gedore ( German) Adjustable I use my Proto as a Hammer a Chisel and whatever prybar you name it In the Plant daily never let me down also my Gedore was a lucky find it was in a toolbox I bought at A Garage Sale all covered in rust so I wire brush and Oil and yeah good as new from '47...also I like Jet Adjustables as a cheaper alternative

Back in the day Spain was good option for stout adjustable wrench, versions could be found in stanley and rothenberger brands of the right era & they nice tight jaw mechanism, good thick handle edges and took a couple decades work with ease.
I would say another negative with Snap-On is the COO change to China, that pretty sucky and more so because they know how bad it looks and purposely do not disclose coo on the tool .
In Europe Snap-On a joke as they push a lot more china and taiwan tool versions for more silly prices than USA versions and warranty is not as reliable as within USA .
I personally probably try fix the thumb screw pin with dab of bearing retainer on the threads and put it back to work .
Good to see GW honour the warranty, shame they can't spend the extra nickel to make the shaft full length lol, save them money in long term and save on landfill too ...

Not overly impressed with protos warranty. Took them three days to get back to me about a ratchet kit and I still haven’t received it a week later

My personal experience with snap-on is by far the best i always call the customer service number and talk to somebody there to warranty my tools and get them within 1 week never tried gearwrench warranty

I guess I dont understand what you meant by "just knowing" how to use the snap on warranty center. They provide a public phone number and email. I don't consider that a con of any sort. I warrantied one gearwrench socket about a year ago. I also never got an email saying if it was coming or anything. 3 months passed and I got the socket. I forgot all about it until that point. Another thing I'd like to add about the warranty comparison is the speed control. This can't be a universal video because people could live further or closer to the distributor.

How did you not know they weren’t going to warranty out the tool. It’s a hand tool and it has a lifetime warranty. You met both criteria to get a warranty claim. So not to be an ass but it was only obvious that they would replace it.
