My first Snap-on ratchet compared to a Gearwrench

And it happened got my very first snap-on FX80A ratchet and I like it a lot lol. After I did the pry bar test and the Snap-on did such a bad job I trade my used Snap-on pry bar set and a little cash in with my Snap-on dealer and ended up with this ratchet. Maybe there's more to come ???

snap-on heads are sealed. They are furnished with synthetic grease (Super-lube 21030). They are ideal for working in dirty environments. I spill coolant, transmission fluid, and engine oil on them all the time. Suspension and exhaust are always dirty and flaking off rust, the snap-on keeps going. Made in 2007, I still use it on a daily basis. The only caveat is the selector switch which is made of cast zinc. It will break if you try to use your ratchet as a hammer (cause your hammer is always out of reach when both hands are full, right?). But snap on warranty is good, you will get a whole new rebuild kit if the selector lever ever breaks. Good video, thanks for posting.

I'm not a fan of locking flex-heads, I would use the detent style I had to but I prefer non-locking. My go to 3/8' drive ratchet is an old almost 20 year old Matco. I have started using a SK-LP90 and it is great. I also have Snap-on and Capri and Craftsman and many more, lol. I might do a video on my ratchets soon

Only trouble i have out of my snap on locking flexheads are that when you put it in regular flex mode, with the switch to the right, it takes nothing to pop it back into locking. The slightest tap and its locked. For $165. That disappointed me. But all my other snap on rathets i love the shit out of.

Ill just stick with my craftsman shit. Works just fine for me. Love the new v series the backdrag feels bad when turning the anvil with fingers but is hardly there when being used how its supposed too. I can say the same for snapons new 100 tooth ratchet it feels like it has too much backdrag when i rurn it with my fingers but in use backdrag nearly non existant.
