The bass line, the groove, the keys, the drums, the killer lead guitar break, and the great Paul Carrack vocal. This song is absolute perfection. Timeless.

My mom passed yesterday, end stage COPD. One of the few joys she had was watching this channel. She loved watching you "discover" the music of her youth. She's often remark about the "sweet, funny faces" you'd make.
Or "how he puts his shoulders in that shuffle."
She truly loved what you are doing. Keep up the great work. You'll never know how much it meant to my mama.

I met Paul Carrack in the early 90's, at a club he was playing at in New Orleans. My wife and I met with him after the show at Tipitinas. We all drank margaritas until about 3:30 in the morning. We told him we thought he was underrated. He has one of the best voices I've ever heard. I really don't think he knew how talented he was back then. He was a very nice guy. I still love his voice.

Paul Carrack is amazing. He was with Ace, Squeeze, Mike + The Mechanics and also had some awesome solo hits.

This was about their bass player leaving for another band, but ironically, by the time the song came out and became a huge hit, he was back with the band. I second that you should react to "Tempted" by Squeeze.

As a kid in the 70’s I can still remember how great I felt when this song came on the “ Radio “ lol. That era of music was magisterial!

Paul Carrack is one of rock's greatest greatest lead singers. You need to react to Mike + the Mechanics.

I love that the bass player is here playing as Paul sings about his cheating ways. And I also love that Paul started it with the bass.

Paul Carrick is the UKs answer to Michael McDonald - he’s popped up on so many tracks over the years!

This song was used in an Amazon video commercial earlier this year about "binge watch cheating." It gained so much exposure from the ad that it reached #1 on the digital download charts ... 45 years after it was originally released (it never got above #3 on the charts when it was released).

Paul Carrack has an awesome voice, one of the most underrated, under appreciated voices in music. He played with the band Squeeze and did a song, “Tempted, ” with them from the early 80’s. You may want to check it out. Thanks again!

@6:40 When we found out about that we all felt cheated, so I know what you mean! They had everybody fooled for a while, until that came out about the trouble the band was having. It was too late by then - we were hooked on the song.

Hands down one of the best songs from the seventies. The opening bass is so good. Love it! ❤

This song is timeless. You can't even tell when it was made. I didn't know it was made in the early 70s till about 4-5 years ago...and I grew up with the song. Just so smooth.

On nothing said about the best thing about this song : Paul Carrack"s voice. Heaven sent. Also, the bass in this is bananas. No wonder another band wanted to "nick" him!

I always associate this song with "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc, which came out around the same time.

My mother bought this 45 back in 1975. This was a giant heavy on the charts. Ranks in my top 10 all time favorite 70’s hits.
